Muppet Vision . . . in a galaxy far, far away?

It's been many years since we've been to WDW, so I'm just trying to get my bearings for our Dec. trip.

You come up to Star Tours, with it's awesome theming. I believe there's an Imperial walker and a crashed spacecraft there to add to the immersiveness. And the stage for the kid's training academy.

Keep walking. You see a hot air balloon and Muppet Vision. (the key's under the mat)

Then Galaxy's Edge, which must be a galaxy farther, farther away? Do I have that layout correct?

That is correct! I have also been wondering the same thing, what will happen to the Muppets. The park will seem so disjointed. I suppose they could swap the Launch Bay space and put the Muppet show on the other side of the park to keep all the Star Wars attractions together, but that would be a huge undertaking.

I personally like Star Tours, but it doesn't make any sense having it there now. Not sure on the space availability, but I would love to see them knock down that whole section of the park and build Cars Land in HS. They could then re-do RNRC and TOT and make that whole section Pixar or Marvel themed. Just my thoughts...

Funny, we were just there yesterday and said the same thing. It’s a shame Star Tours and Muppets locations weren’t swapped. Would have worked out perfectly.

The balloon was removed awhile ago. Did they put it back? I did not even notice when I was there in May. But, it is sort of out of place now for sure.

This description is a perfect example of why I'm nervous for Muppet Vision 3D and its future. It's sitting in prime real estate for more Star Wars.

To be fair, Galaxy's Edge will not be visible from the Muppets are. You'll have to go through a tunnel that doglegs to the right. All you'll see from the outside is the art deco arch that's already there. As far as Star Tours goes, my understanding is that it's not supposed to be a part of Galaxy's Edge but a standalone referencing the movies. GE is supposed to be stepping into the Star Wars Universe. I know it's splitting hairs, but it makes sense in some way.

I've said it before; If they just change the Muppet Vision show to mix in Pigs in Space, it fits perfectly. The Star Wars cast even had a guest appearance in a Pigs in Space episode during the TV show's original run.

Whatever happens, I hope they don't shut down the Muppets before my trip in 2020. My kids love the show and it's on the top of their "must-do" list.
