EDINBURGH (Reuters) - The creators of The Muppets and Sesame Street are staging a rude and lewd puppet show that is strictly for adults only.

Even Miss Piggy would blush over the antics of "Jim Henson's Puppet Improv" that is spearheading a renaissance of puppet shows for grown-ups.....

Puppets for adults... What a wonderful concept... I would still prefer the original muppets anyday over some adult oriented puppet show....

Sid and Marty Krofft began thier careers doing a burlesque (read puppet porn) puppett show YEARS ago.

In fact, they were even associated with the muppet creators then. So I would not be suprised if the show is similiar.

I saw some still photography shots of the Krofft show and it reminded me of late 60's Las Vegas T and A show. (it was a show girl type thing)

It wasn't exactly porn per se, but visually different.

I will be at the Edinburgh festival at the weekend(I will bring you all back some nice photos) and I am not planning on seeing the Muppets for Adults, but I believe it entails a lot of improvisation and audience participation where the puppeteers will make the muppets do what the audience ask. They also show you how they manipulate the puppets to do things. Its not really a muppet porn show.

Well, clearly there is some demand for adult oriented puppet entertainment. Avenue Q won the Tony for Best Musical in 2004 and that was pretty much inspired by Henson's Sesame Street Muppets.
