Mummy

Are you serious?? I have been avoiding JP since it opened because I hate steep drops but I can ride the Rocknrollercoaster and Mummy all day long. are you saying the drop is not as bad as I have been thinking?? I rode splash mtn once and hated it btw. is the angle more of a slope, or straight down?

You should try it at least once. JP's drop is tall, but height doesn't always equal intensity. Ripsaw for example, has a much more intense drop (the most intense I've ever experienced) than JP and it's half the height. The first time I rode JP I found the drop very intense and didn't ride it again for a while. Then when I finally got the nerve to get back on, I found that they changed the lapbars, which cut down greatly on the intensity. They've now had 3 different lapbars on that ride. The drop really isn't much worse than Splash Mountain now. And it takes place in the dark, but you know exactly when it's gonna happen. It's not like you can't see it coming. Just look for the T-Rex that hasn't eaten in a week. :) Duck! Oh yeah, and try not to have a panic attack on the lift hill. It is the point where people usually start to freak out because it makes it look like the drop is going to be a lot more dramatic than it really is.

I think I will pass! when you said it was intense and mentioned something about trying not to panic, I decided I had best stick with spiderman and cat in the hat. where my problem lies is trying it once. I don't have enough nerve to get on it to see if I will actually like it. I wish I wasn't so afraid of drops :( Linda

I would say yes. You do launch 150 ft straight up, then have a 100 ft drop that follows. You then recoil a few times before gradually returning down.

Okay I did not even consider the motion sickness factor. I will not go on this ride. I got sick on Hanna Barbara, and Dr. Seuess. I got sick on Winnie the Pooh. That is with taking dramamine. No way will I go on Mummy. You know, it is too bad that all the rides they create lately have to have some sort of wild motion involved. Why cant they put a parallel ride next to it for those of us who cannot ride.

Bella, the ride wouldn't be the same without the "wild ride." That would be like asking them to take out all the scarab scenes because I am scared of bugs. It is a psychological thrill ride so it is supposed to touch on many fears such as bugs, the dark, heights, and fire.

I really understand the nausea thing as the older I get the more queasy rides seem to get. I would suggest you take some Bonine. It works tons better for me than Dramamine. It is over the counter and comes in the Bonine brand and also as Non-Drowsy formula Dramamine.

It has worked so well that I can now ride all the rides that used to make me queasy. I doesn't make me drowsy either though some people have said it made them a little drowsy. It is a 24 hour pill, so you can take it the night before, sleep off any drowsiness and still be effective the next day.

I don't like roller coasters but my family talked me into going. It was not real long and only 1 time do you drop to where you feel yourself come up abit out of your seat, but since you are belted in it is fine. I actually enjoyed it.

Selina-
I was a 4. I didn't blow chunks but could have if I'd just ate.

Metallicat-
I got sick on Mission Space (normal) but both of my kids did too.
Last time I rode Tower of Terror one of the cast member bell hops said I looked pretty green. I have no desire to make an appointment with the good Doctor!

ITA. The lift hill is absolutely the scariest part of the ride. It is the steepest lift out there. The drop itself is a piece of cake compared to the climb, IMO!

The lift is great. Every time we ride with others in the car we act (subtley) like its our first time. My kids have become pretty good actors. " Oh no ,the hadrosaur has knocked us off course. We are supposed to go that way aren't we?" " Oh no, they got Jennifer!" " Why are are we going uphill?"
