Mummy

Better. :) Way smoother than Space at MK (more like Space at DL). Haven't ridden BT at MK recently enough to compare.

Fire features; if you have someone very phobic to fire, consider having them sit out. (someone who knows the ride better...is the fire on both sides or just one? if one, what side?)

Also, mummies.

Also, Brendan Frasier REALLY wants that cup of coffee! (even if you have Express Pass or can do Single Rider, go through the full line once to get the whole storyline)

The fire is on both sides at the beginning as well as the ceiling in a different part.

I rode all 3 in October. It is a more intense ride than btmrr.
Similar intensity to space but agree not as rough.
Space/mummy are at the limits of my tolerance!
I did enjoy mummy and will go on again. Dd was 9 and liked it a lot.

My grandson was nine when he first rode it and he also loved it. The ride is incredibly detailed, dark, creepy, slow and then fast, a scenic wonder, an indoor coaster that doesn't disappoint, yet has a sense of humor (the coffee scene). Go for it. Honestly, it is more like SM than BTMR mainly because it it an indoor coaster, but the actual coaster part is much shorter than that of SM.
It is (without taking an official vote) my family's favorite attraction in all of Universal.

We will be having our first ExpressPass experience next month. Do you get to see any of the interesting queue that way?

I'm thinking that during the first hour on a weekday in January, we could go through the regular queue without much of a wait, as the crowds at opening are likely to go to Diagon Alley and Minions, so we might start with Mummy and Transformers, just to be able to experience the queues without being slowed down. (Familiar with the attractions, but my wife is not, so I'd hope she can see the queues. Doesn't make any difference for Minions, as the regular queue is just switchbacks with a few video monitors.)

It is more intense than both BTMR and SM. However, as mentioned, it's not nearly as jerky as SM. Mummy was my daughter's first 48" ride in any park. I think she was 7. (Same kid barely made it to 51" and did Rip Ride Rockit this past trip at 9). Mummy ties with RRR for her favorite ride. My eldest doesn't like the intense rides nearly as much - he won't even try RRR. He did Mummy but once was enough. He'll do BTMR multiple times, same with Space Mountain. I can do Mummy and BTMR multiple times but once is my limit with Space Mountain due to how jerky it is.

You miss out quite a bit with the EP line.

If you can definitely go through regular queue just once.......it's worth seeing.

Agree, minions regular queue looks dull......never actually done it, only ever used EP on that ride.

Yep, that's all I've ever done. I like the dark, creepiness that it brings. Probably also want to go through the Transformers queue, as that's an attraction I've only done once.

Couple years ago I did Mummy at rope drop, on a fairly slow day, and it's obviously an attraction that isn't people's first stop - I had my own private jeep, and I had the feeling I might have been the only guest in the entire queue. So I'm hoping if we get to Mummy by 0930 or so, there will still be not much of a wait on a Tuesday in late January.

I agree with PPs - more intense than Big Thunder, but on par with Space in terms of intensity. I think it's a shorter ride than Space as well. Very cool effects though, love the ride.

I think the drops are steeper and longer than Space, but it doesn't have as many sharp turns. (Heck, two-thirds of Space is about the turns, I think.)
