For the suits up high who may be reading this, the correct term is "fun ride".
Calling it a Thrill Ride will scare people away. Just ask the folks at Alton Towers. They rolled out an ad campaign saying Air was a thrill ride that would scare you to death, and guess what, everyone was too scared to ride it. The Mummy is a fun ride, that everyone can go on (if you make the height requirement), and you'll have a great time.
Also, if the marketing department is smart, they'll run ads for The Mummy Ride up north in Ohio and Pennsylvania, because this ride will basically kick off the coaster season. If they shoot some ride footage, and run that in a commercial in January, the people snowed in will plan a trip and come down in February/March.
Let IOA Central take pictures and do a story, that will generate even more buzz. The "keep it top secret" thing doesn't work anymore. Fans would be more interested to see construction updates. I mean, right now, noone knows when it will open, and noone has any idea. So how can people plan, when the park is being so secret?
