Hey all was hoping somebody could give me some info on the mummy ride. From all I have read it sounds really cool but I dont like roller coasters. How scarry is the coaster part of the ride. The biggest coaster I have been on is Big thunder mountain and that was fun. Is it much worse than that?
Thanks :flower:

I don't think that the coaster part is much more intense than that. The scariest part is the launch. The coaster is actually kinda tame. It is in the dark though and that makes it a little more scarier.

It is very fast, but extremely smooth. Just beware of those sudden stops. Just rest your head back and you'll be fine. I think you'll enjoy it. Afterwards you'll be feeling like this:

ok i am obsessed with the mummy. the beginning is just cool with the animatronics. then comes the launch. you start going up very slowly and then launch off into the mummy. you turn sharply to the right. once you've done the launch, you should be fine. just a couple of dips and turns. if you can do btm, you can definetly do mummy. you'll just have more fun.
p.s. it DOES NOT GO UPSIDE DOWN!
lol
have fun!

DH does not like coasters at all but loves Mummy. DD rode in back in June for the first time right before her 8 b-day(she was finally tall enough). She loved it. I'd say it is comparable to BTMRR.

Greetings.
Okay, just got back from Universal. Well, the ride if pretty intense but, there are no loops and no corkscrews. The ride is filled with banking turns (hence ThunderRock) and quick drops. The ride is pretty dark, but there is a great deal of light.
I know when I went in I had lots of anticipation about what I was getting on. Its so so worth the ride.
The special effects are great in this ride..only Universal could pull it off.
I don't want to give you too much info..that would spoil your trip.
Have fun.
Any question please feel free to email me.
Thanks

The only part I didnt like about The Mummy was that it was too short. It took longer to walk thru the preshow part than to ride the coaster! :rotfl2:

I am going to join in and ask a question. Is it to intense for a 6 year old. She loved the Dinosaur Ride at Disney and the whole time we were on it I just knew she would be terrified, but we ended up riding it like 7 times.

Since she like dinosaur, I would say she would be fine on mummy. Best thing to do of course is ride it yourself first

Do like the previous post suggests. Keep your head against the head rest at all times. The sudden stops are the hardest part of the ride. I was just there on the 15th of September and rode the Mummy 5 times. I left Disneyworld to go for a day specifically to ride the mummy. I would not have gone if I couldn't have rode it. It's that great of a ride. Also rode spiderman once in IOA.
