I'd like to do the Mummy queue at least once and forgo the FOTL. What would be the best time to do so? I'm guessing we should open the park one morning and head for Mummy. How are the lines at this hour? Thanks.

Went on the 15th with the same idea as you. Arrived to USF at 9am and they were already open. Walked straight to the Mummy, and went into the regular queue. Funny thing happened. You actually walk into the right side of the building, and then walk back outside to the front. People were freaking out thinking it was the exit of the ride. I was laughing at them, and said to keep going. Yes, you walk back outside, and then into the main building. The queue is nice, but nothing fancy. You will see most of it using FOTL. On our journey, there was no wait, so we didn't even hear the story on the tv screens overhead. We just kept walking up to the loading station. Along the way, there are some characters that will scare you. FOTL simply takes you around the main queue. You can still see it, but you by pass it and go up the stairs to the loading station.

Go ahead, get there early and go thru the main queue just to try it. Then go back thru the express line and breeze up to the loading station. In the afternoon at 4pm, this line will be 15 minutes, much better than the real line at 90.

Oh, and see if you can sit in the front seat, left side, it's the best.
If you don't get it, don't worry, you probably will on your next ride.

And hang on at the top of the lift, there is a sharp turn to the right.

Gotta agree with robvia on this one......Our whole 5 days in US/IOA a few weeks ago, I have yet to hear/see the entire queue....the theming was still great & the ride ops. were always in character & added to the thrill! Because we had FOTL for 4 days & got an express ticket for our 5th day, we never had to wait in line more than 15 minutes....I never saw the TV monitors in express from where we had to wait & have to admit that I'd never give up time from my day to see them.....thank goodness I understood the final scene with Brendan Frasier from reading posts here @ the DIS! We're hooked on FOTL! ;)
