I am considering an add on. There are many deals out there right now but some of them are not in my UY. Do any of you own with multiple UY's? If so, do you regret it? Is it complicated? How do you keep it straight?

Thanks for the advice and info.

all my points are in june - have different resorts - it is not hard to kept up with them - especially with excel worksheet or Caskbill program.

I own 3 UY's. I wouldn't do it again. So far, I have been able to manage it. I have Dec, Oct, Apr...I have the most points and contracts in Oct. Then somehow, I even have a contract with a Oct Uy that is just in my name. I have to log on separately to use it. I really don't know how my husband didn't get on it. I must have been mad at him when I bought it.;) I just did a add on to it. Disney tried to add the add on to my first set of Oct UY's, but it was a BCV's add on, I had to just about go thru hoops to get it taken off and added on to the contract that it is in just my name. My guide was great, he actually walked it over to my original BCV contract, confusing...right?

More than one UY is a PITA. Do yourself a favor and only have one.

We have four different Use Years and have not had any problem managing them. We first used a computer checkbook program and now use Caskbill's (Most Excellent) DVC Tracker. Both work very well , but Caskbill's program uses reminders for banking deadlines which is a great feature.

It does require some effort to keep everything straight, but (thus far) we've never had a problem and have never lost any points. :)

How do I get this Caskbill's DVC tracker?

Thanks.

We have 2 UYs, Apr and Oct. I haven't had any trouble keeping track. Oct is for winter vacations and Apr is for late spring/ summer vacations.

Thanks for asking. Just follow the link in my signature below, which goes to the website: Caskbill.com

When is a new update for Tracker coming with BLT included and being able to use Developer Points at Disneyland resorts?

;)

Also, can I suggest you allow the program to add room types/views to DVC resorts? I want to track my AP cash stays but it won't let me add to the DVC resorts at all.

Yes, I'm this picky in the real world too!
:lmao:

If you have 2 use years that are 6 months apart, you have the ability to only book stays that are bankable if canceled. The benefit is somewhat limited if you are using the 7 month window to book at a resort other than your home resort, but you would still have 3 months of booking without worry.

I have 4 resorts and 4 UYs. I do not find it difficult to keep track as I try to use the points at the home resort booking at the 11 month window as much as possible.

I would not have different UYs for points at the same resort.

For the folks who have the same UY and different resorts, how do you handle making ressies at the 7 month (or less) point? Do you ever have problems with MS taking the points from the wrong home resort? Does MS ask you before they apply the points?

I have 2 UYs...Aug and Dec. The only reason I purchased a Dec UY is because I hate my Aug UY. Is it hard for me to track? No. I can bank any Aug points by end of March, and any Dec points by end of July. I just mark my calendar, plus, all of the info regarding banking deadlines is on dvcmember.com.

Would I do it again? I'm not sure. Having the same UY allows you to combine points at the 7 month window without have to "transfer" points. However, having different UYs reduces your risk of losing points if you travel throughout different times of the year. Definitely pros/cons to both. At the end of the day, I would have stuck with a Dec UY had my original purchase been December. That's what I get for finding these wonderful boards too little, too late!!! :headache:

Why do you hate your Aug. UY and love your Dec UY? Do you have problems getting your ressies?
