We are definitly not rich! However we will usually go in a cycle, one year we go once, next year we go two or three times. We can do this with AP's. So that we technically only have to buy an AP once every two years. It's enough, and any more I would probably be burnt out.
AP's also help us with lodging. When we go a few times a year we stay in Values or Moderates, Pop Century, PORQ, CSR, etc. Last year in Jan. 06 we were able to get Pop Century for $49 a night, can't beat that!
We will also sometimes go as a group to split the hotel cost. So this summer in June we went with a friend of ours, still got CSR at AP rate (I think $112?) but split the cost.
We drive, some people (ok a lot of people!) think we are nuts but we have driven five times round trip from Kansas City, Mo to Orlando, FL. next time I think we might fly (we haven't flow in four years!) but its super cheap that way. Plus its kind of fun too. I love that Kentucky Rest Stop!
We save. Every week I take $20 out, and put it in a pot, any money I get for holidays, straight to Disney Dollars. That's what I am doing right now. Also we are pretty frugal, $50 a week for grocery store (there are only two of us though), I don't buy a lot of clothes, and we don't drive brand new vehicles, and we don't have a huge house. Disney is our major vice I guess you could say!
Last thing, we work two jobs, both my husband and myself. We do this partially because we enjoy it too though. We work at the Worlds of Fun (local amusement park) during the summer on weekends, its hard but enjoyable and the satisfaction you get out of it you just can't buy.
