Multiple tickets - how to link and how to use them?

Hi,

In the spring, we have purchased 2 sets of 6-day park tickets for Canadian Discount deal and have linked them to my disney experience account.
We also have 6 days left on our 10-day non-expiry tickets. This has not been linked yet.

We're planning to go to WDW in January, and hoping to use 2 days from our non-expiry tickets, since I think it is possible to use 2 days and save other 4 for later. (please correct me if I am wrong)

In order to get FP+ 60 days in advance, I want to link my non-expiry passes to my MDE.
But then, I am wondering when I scan Magic Band at the park entrance, how will they know which ticket I am supposed to be using. I wonder if I can 'block' other tickets.

Anyone knows?

Thanks!

Add the NE tickets to your mde and move the Canadian resident tickets to a placeholder person in your mde (go in and creat a new person called guest 1 or placeholder or your middle name, anything really)

You will be able to use 2 days without losing the rest and by moving the other 6 day tickets off of your profile there is no chance the wrong tickets will be used.

Never thought about that idea!

Or, can I temporarily change it to my parent's account as well and add it back to ours later?

Also, can I 'un-link' the tickets?
When I have 4 NE tickets left, I don't want it to get mistakenly used when I go back.

You can’t unlink them. Next time you’ll have to have GS or ticketing prioritize the correct tickets and check after entry that the correct ticket was used.

I see. Can I book FP+ without having it linked then?
I have a physical plastic/paper card and I wonder if I can just bring that with me..

Grey area... if you have A ticket linked you can book fp, however if you enter a park on a ticket not linked to your mde and then try to use fp that are booked on your mde your account can be locked for fraudulent fp usage. I would do as I have suggested above if it was me.

Your physical plastic/paper card merely acts as a link to your MDE (think of it as a plastic card MagicBand). It is not tied to the specific ticket that you are scanning. We learned this the hard way last year. We were using a plastic ticket thinking that all of our park days would be taken off the ticket we were using, but in actuality, a different ticket had been (unknown to us) prioritized in MDE. All of our days were taken off of that ticket, which was not used to enter the park. Disney was able to rectify the situation for us, but it was a complete pain.

Hello,
I am little confused.
I currently have
A. 10 day NE ticket with 6 days left (paper/plastic ticket)
B. Canadian discount ticket 6 days with WPFAM.
C. Canadian discount ticket 6 days with WPFAM.

B and C are linked to my MDE. A is not linked yet. We will be staying at Disney resort and want to use A tickets (2 days) and have my FP+ selection.

So my understanding is that I need to link A and change B and C to someone else temporarily. Or "prioritize" the tickets.

And next time I go, I will most likely use B only. In this case, it seems like it will have to be repriortized. As it sounds like a lot of hassle if it doesn't do that.
How do i do that??

Thanks!

If you link all of your tickets to you but use only the “physical” ticket for one of the tickets some people assumed that the other tickets would be automatically safe and couldn’t be used. What they didn’t understand is that just like a magic band the plastic ticket simply acts as a key to your account and can access any ticket linked to you. My advice from earlier is still (I believe) the best way to handle your tickets.

What is GS?

I think I sort of understand.
How about creating another MDE account? Would that work? Can I move my resort reservation over to the new one? Or will it cause more confusion?

BTW, how do I prioritize tickets?

Thanks! :)

1) GS is Guest Services

2) That would be a lot more complicated that creating one or two "people" that you manage and just transferring the Canadian Resident Tickets to them... in fact I doubt you can transfer a resort reservation at all

3) YOU can't prioritize tickets only GS (Guest Services) can do that for you. TinkLoverSam's option saves you from having to go to GS this trip and possibly future trips as long as you only ever have 1 ticket linked to your *actual* profile and any additional tickets linked to the "ghost" profile(s)... In *this* particular instance you'll need to go to GS each future trip to make sure that your current tickets are prioritized ahead of your NE (no expiry) tickets until those NE tickets are used up.

Thank you.
I will assign guests 1, 2, 3 for our current Canadian resident tickets. and use NE for this trip.
Next trip, I will go to GS and will ask them to prioritize tickets so it won't cause any issues. (I will still have some days left on my NE tickets)

And 3rd trip, I will ALSO go to GS and prioritize it again... :)

Hi,

Couple of questions...
1. If I assign tickets to 'pseudo-me', I have no issues assigning back to me, right?
2. I have not yet merged my NE tickets yet. It's with my in-laws and I am doing that this weekend. However, our plan has changed and we're leaving for WDW in Jan. So we're within that 60 day window... So, I wonder: can I book FP+ now using Canadian resident tickets and then link my NE tickets and assigned Canadian resident tickets to 'pseudo-me'? Or do I have to assign them to 'pseudo-me' first and then link my NE tickets and then book FP+?

Thank you!

1) yes, unused tickets can be reassigned however many times you want.
2) if you are within you window you can book fp with any tickets assigned to you in mde and reassign as necessary later. Fp are tied to you profile not a specific ticket so as long as you have tickets assigned to you, you can book fp

I have a similar ticket combo to what you have - nonexpiring with days remaining plus new Cdn tickets that have not been used.

What I did was create a whole separate MDE (I know Disney doesn't technically allow this) with a different email address and made my resort reservation with that. In my original account, I edited my name to our middle names. If we go back on a trip with our non-expiring passes, I will use our original MDE and change our names back to our first names.

So I have 2 MDE accounts:
1. Original MDE with several days remaining on our non-expiring tickets, currently with our middle names
2. 2nd MDE with "normal" tickets and resort reservation just used for that trip, currently with our first names (used this on our latest August trip). This is where I'm assigning those extra tickets

If I plan to use my non-expiring tickets on my next trip I will:
1. change my original MDE back to our first names
2. change 2nd MDE to our middle names

If I plan to use one of our new tickets on a future trip I will:
1. Leave original MDE alone
2. Use new tickets under 2nd MDE with our first names.

Yes, I know I can prioritize but it sounds like a hassle and I've heard of horror stories. I'd sooner control my ticket usage myself.

We had a similar situation this trip. Bought the 7 day ticket for five da6 price thru DVC for four of us. Two of us had days left on old non expire tickets. And we bought the Christmas party tickets for Sunday night. I just went to concierge st our resort, Wilderness, and asked him to verify that only the new 7 day park hopper would be used for all of us. He said it was already set up that way. I did check my app after the Christmas party to ensure they used that ticket. They did. And after we went to the park yesterday I checked to make sure they used the right ticket. They did. Far less complicated than coming up with fake accounts or names.

All the name changing is unnecessary. You'll just have bands that are linked to each account, and you'll need to make sure that your resort reservation and the tickets you intend to use are all on the same account.

I prefer to have our first names line up to our resort reservation :)

Otherwise, we'd have our middle names on our resort reservations and while that's fine, it's just not our preference.

I may not have been clear. You should be able to use your first name on all accounts at all times. There's no reason to use your middle name when you're managing two accounts. Some people create fake people in their one account and use middle names (or any name, for that matter), but between two accounts, there's no reason to use different names.

I did it that way because I was managing a multi family trip and had everyone linked as family and friends.

Good point though and I will likely do as you recommend in the future. Thanks!
