I'm pretty sure i know the answer to this, but I'm gonna try anyway! :goodvibes

If someone wants to get extra hours during DCP, can they be trained on multiple positions? For instance, if I got in as a Character Performer but still wanted extra hours Character Attending too, would I be able to be trained on that as well? Or are you limited to just one position?

Thanks!!

No. You are only trained for one role (unless you got a hopper role, and the roles for that are limited). If you wanted to pick up extra hours, it would have to be for your own role, or an untrained shift. One exception is that some areas train people in both merchandise and QSFB

Okay, that's what I figured... Thanks so much! :goodvibes

How does an untrained shift work, though, out of curiosity??

It's something easy- crowd control (like for the parades), stroller parking, stuff like that

What Joanna said. I was only trained in attractions but I picked up a crowd control shift for the "sounds like summer" concerts.

My neighbor was a lifeguard at Blizzard Beach but he would normally pick up hours at Cosmic Rays on his days off with little to no training.....

There are some foods shifts available that don't require training

This in addition to the fact lifeguards are often deployed if their water park is closed or they are trained in another position first if they arrive before the water park is open. If they are a resort lifeguard, different story.

There are also some Merchandise shifts that don't require training in FloorStock. I picked up some at World of Disney and basically they just put you in a room and bring you out bins of stuff for you to put away on the shelves.

You cant work both at the same time unfortunately, but each job pulls lots of hours so theres no real need
