I know you can only book 2 placeholders onboard... but can I book multiple cruises onboard? Like one for June 2017, one for February 2018... and book a placeholder as well?? Thanks

I *think* you can book as many as you want, but only one would be eligible for the benefits. The others would be like booking online on your own.

And I think the placeholders would have to be booked for the same cruise - like, I don't think you can buy two place holders and use one on one cruise and another on another. At least not and maintain the benefits for both.

I could be wrong about that though.

You are correct. If you book two placeholders, they have to be used for the same cruise, i.e. two staterooms on the same cruise, not two different cruises, or one placeholder will lose the OBB benefits. You can book more than one cruise, but only one cruise will get the OBB benefits. And you can't book one cruise and one placeholder and get the OBB benefits for both.

If you book 2 onboard, you should still get the OBC for the 2nd cruise; it won't include the 10% discount or reduced deposit.

Enjoy your cruises!

Thanks. I've cruised enough I should know this. I booked two IGT rooms on our upcoming cruise. Ive never booked two rooms on board. I'm thinking about booking the transatlantic or Panama on board. My kids are getting older the extra space is nice.

This never made any sense to me. Why limit someone's ability to do multiple bookings? When we were on Dream last month, we only booked one cruise, because we could only get the OBB for one - and we still paid the full deposit. In March of this year on RCL's Freedom, we booked four, got reduced deposit and OBC on all of them. I'm much more likely to do multiple bookings when I get treated the same way for all of them than I am when the cruise line limits any incentive for me to give them my business more than one cruise at a time.

Because that's the way that DCL has set up their Onboard Bookings. Each cruise line does what works for them.

Full deposit is on cruises of less than 7 nights. Also, just the way DCL has set it up. Only on 7 night and longer cruises is the deposit less.

I understand what they do, I can't fathom the why. Customer avoidance is generally not a good long term strategy - especially with them bring on two new ships.
