Multiple Fastpasses??

I'm local so I can go whenever I like so I'm like that too as far as planning goes. But I always get there at rope drop because I can get so much done in the first couple of hours. It's amazing how much you can do. I'm not on vacation, though...it's usually just a Saturday so sleep in isn't required. lol But seriously collecting FPs for later use takes maybe an extra 10-15 minutes of my day. I just grab them as I come across something I'd like to do later.

I am a backtracker though....I like to visit the lands in the a.m. and again in the p.m. I think they have different feels.

over the years on here ive learned one thing and that is we all do disney differently. i guess if i was only going for a weekend i would want to fit so much in. we are usually there for 8 days. so rushing around isnt really necessary.

The fast pass states is it to be used during the window. Disney is indeed courteous enough to usually allow people to use it after the window, however, they can change that at any time and force people to stick within the window. So general consensus is that using the fast pass after the window is allowed by most cast members, you really can't complain if you return late and they deny you entrance.

I gathered FP (up to 3-4 diff attractions at a time) while at MK and EPCOT during TH last year. It worked like a breeze - we got so much done!!!!!!!!!!

I never had any problem using the FP many hours past the return time - no CM cared. I would not use them on a different day, but I have no moral or ethical problem using them past the return time - there is no crime here.

The only problem I had was with the CRANKY senior citizen working "Soarin" when I asked for my parent swap. Strollers weren't allowed down the ramp in the building however my child was asleep in the stroller. He stated he had to actually see the child to grant the parent swap pass - I was like you've to got to be kidding  - I'm supposed to wake this child up that it took forever to put to sleep just so you can see that I'm not lying. I went over to the desk next to Soarin where the manager was and he gave me the parent swap pass with an apology for the crank.

Awww don't be too hard on the old "crank". For every honest parent getting a swap, there is probably one trying to get one by on the guy.

me, personally, nothing. ive actually been here for years reading posts. it wasnt until this year that i actually ahd a question and wanted to join. so, yeah ive been seeing you for a long time.
dont take it personal, i dont even know you, i only know what you write on the boards.
And what on earth have I written that offended you to the point that you remember me and can not read my posts any longer?

Good point. When you think about it, it really isn't even necessary to read the official or unoffical policy. The fastpass has a return window printed right on it. That's clear enough for me!

I know, but he was REALLY a crank.

And, if they have to actually SEE the child, then they should allow strollers down the ramp (but I know it would be congested) - afterall that is when many people ride these types of rides when the little ones are sleeping..... JMHO

Or perhaps they could put a CM up the ramp somehow - I know I am not the first person to have this issue

there is sometimes a cm, or a couple of cms up the ramp. when we rode it last year i specifically remember a guy standing at the door area, i think there was 2 entrances, i cant really remember as ive only ridden it once.
you must have just caught it at the wrong time.

I can't imagine how bad it'd be with a bunch of strollers in there so I get why they don't allow them. But a person with swap tickets at the ramp is a very good idea. That's the perfect place for them. I've seen some CMs there before, though, have you ever asked them if they can give out swap passes?

Sorry guys, not trying to be difficult here, but I gotta say that I hope they will start more strictly enforcing the time window on fastpasses.

Having people show up to use them outside of that window sort of defeats the whole purpose and is exactly why the fastpass line can now sometimes be almost as long as the regular line. I just don't think it's fair to all the people who are using their fastpasses within their window.

As I said, not trying to be difficult or start an argument here. Just my .02 worth of opinion.

I agree with you completely on this! The times are on there for reason, if it says you time is 1-2, then that is what time you should come back not hours later. It would interfer with other groups that are following the rules and using them correctly at their designated times.

If it were against the rules, Disney wouldn't allow it. Hence, there is no rule.

The idea is to use them in the time frame they are given, hence the reason that fast passes were created in the first place, so there is not as much congestion at the attraction and prevent long wait times.

But there aren't long lines in the FP lane or congestion. The only times you get those are when the ride is broken down or otherwise delayed.

FPs were created to keep people out of lines and happy. Preferably in park restaurants and shops. Where they spend money. Not much money spent in lines.

There is no express rule that FPs MUST be used within the window.

not trying to tangle here, JMHO, but if there are less FP people returning between 3:00 and 3:45, more standby people would ride at that time, so how is it a problem - its just switching these people for those people - how does it affect efficiency?

JMHO - don't mean to argue

oh, I feel sorry for the OP - bet she didn't know what a can of worms she had opened! :scared1:

Depends what attraction you go to, that is not always the case. I returned to the fast past line and had to wait 20 minutes for Soarin, 20 minutes for Kilamanjaro. so in these cases, yes, it did cut down on time that you would have spent waiting in the regular line, but it was not like we just walked on to the attraction with no wait. This was during our trip in December, 8-15th.

Yes, but you don't know why you had to wait for those attractions. More than likely it's not due to people using their FPs outside of their window. It was likely due to a delay in the attraction of some sort. One day at DHS, RnRc was a 30-40 minute wait in the FP line all day due to technical difficulties that kept delaying them.

The line was delayed during my wait because a disabled person was riding "Soarin", and it took longer to help them on and then off the ride.

Another good example. Oh and you remind me of another delay we had....a child had wedged his knee in between the fence posts at the loading area of Splash Mtn. Medical had to come and check him out. Everyone else waited until he was out. Someone not knowing what had happened may not know why the FP line was a 20 minute wait at that point and may surmise it was due to a bunch of people showing up late.

Yes, that could be the case, my oberservation though was that the lines were longer, it sure could have been somone disabled or another delay that was holding up the line I just know we didn't walk right on to the rides in either case and the lines were longer than normal for the fast pass line.
