Does anyone keep two reservations in case something goes wrong with the first?

Thanks for the help. A little paranoid as we will be arriving with small children after midnight.

Yep....after I did the paperwork on the car I wanted I just walked over to the other company and cancelled my ressie.

The only reason I had a backup ressie was because the one that I wanted to get was insanely cheap and I was worried they would not honour it.....really no reason to worry because the codes and coupons I had used had been emailed to me by Alamo in the first place.

I think if it were during a busy time of the year, I might feel a bit awkward holding two ressies since it might prevent someone else from getting a reservation they might need. Kind of like holding two simultaneous ADRs for two different WDW restaurants, and only intending to use one of them. Just my 2 cents.

There was a thread from yesterday that dealt with rental agencies running out of cars. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2877461

Some one proposed that one of the reasons why this happens is people making more than one res at two different companies. Keeping one and cancelling the other at the last minute. The more people do this the more likely they will overbook their fleet.

So its kind of a catch 22, you do this to ensure you have a car, but doing it only makes the reason why you have to do it in the first place worse. (I think I got that right :goodvibes)

Never thought of it that way. Thanks for all the input. Looks like I will hang on to the two of them but cancel one a few days before we leave. Dont want to be too greedy.
