We are going to WDW in July and planned on purchasing a 4-day + (4 park and 1 water park). However, it is not offered (only 5-day + is available) We have one day left on our 4-day Hopper passes from Nov 2001. Could we go to a Disney store and turn these in to off-set the cost of the 5-day + park-hopper pass, I mean, they could give us credit for that one unused day? (we don't really need 6 days of park passes, because we planned on getting a 2-day pass for IOA - I'm not telling WDW about that, though!!) I don't want to purchase another 4-day pass because we REALLY want to go to a water park this time!! (we've NEVER been to one and would like to try out Blizzard Beach). Or, should we just purchase a 4-day pass and just buy tickets for entrance into Blizzard Beach on the day we go there....??

You cannot upgrade any passes at TDS. This must be done at WDW. You can turn in your leftover day towards a new 5 day PHP at WDW. This would give you 4 additional major park days in addition to the one you now have as well as giving you two plus options you can use at the water parks. This would seem to be what you are trying to do.

(is that in reference to the music you like?) Yes, that is exactly what we are trying to do. Can I turn in my unused portion of the other multi-day passes (from Nov) at CBR (I guess, guest services) or do I have to go to TTC. If I can do this at the resort, it would save LOTS of time!!
(there are 7 of us!!!)

My 1st disclaimer is to state that I am NO expert, but I've been told repeatedly here and other Disney sites that you are better off to use your one day leftover as park entrance rather than to trade it in. That said, you can only check with the Ticket & Transportation Center about the value of your pass. If yours is from last year, it may be about equal. My leftover day is from '97 so practically zilcho in a trade situation. Some of the online discount ticket places occasionally offer a 4 day +, but even if you get the 5 day+, the days or pluses do not expire so you can use them on a future trip.

Price comparison: 4-day hopper w/o discount: $203.52 Adults; $161.12 Child
Water park: $30.74 Adults ; $25.44 Child
Total: $234.26 Adult; $186.56 Child

5-day hopper plus w/o discount (remember 2 +'s) :$261.84 Adults ; $208.83 Children

Looks like for an extra $27.58 Adults and $22.27 Child you would get an extra day at the major parks plus an extra plus to be used at a water park or pleasure island. (One day at major park + water park would separately cost $81.62 Adult and $65.72 Child) I guess it depends on if you have the cash on hand now or would rather limit an extra spending.

Geez, I hope my math is correct. I'm on a ton of allergy meds and my head feels twice it's normal size, lol.

Carla

I say buy the 5 days + tickets. Use the old ticket and 3 days + on the new tickets and you will have two days left for your next trip.

Sorry Carla but you're wrong on this one. You can have the old passes scanned and upgrade your pass at any Guest Relations or park ticket booth, not just at the TTC. If you just want to find out how many days you have left on an old pass, then any of the resort front desks or Guest Services can also read them. The resorts *may* even be able to do the upgrade but I don't have first hand knowledge of doing this.

And why do you say your '97 pass is worth practically nothing? I don't know which pass you had but one day admission in '97 was $42 and change so the value of your leftover day must be in the $35-$40 range. I'd be happy to take "practically zilcho" off your hands for you if you'd like. ;)

...and they said that I could trade my existing pass and they would "pro-rate" it. Now, I don't know exactly how much "credit" I will, get, but since the pass is from last November, it should be worth alot. Also, it will be so convenient to exchange them at CBR guest services (which I CAN do:) ) Besides, the difference in the money I save for a 5-day Park Hopper + (I also will get a DC discount!!!!) we can purchase IOA tickets!!!

This should give you a rough idea of your credit. I don't know if you had DC discount on it or not so I did it both ways:

Regular (non-DC):

old 4 day adult PH from Nov cost $203.52. Your credit will be one day (1/4 of $203.52 = $50.88). Buying a new 5 day PHP will cost $261.84 less the $50.88 credit = $210.96.

With DC:

old 4 day adult PH from Nov cost $196.10. Your credit will be one day (1/4 of $196.10 = $49.03). Buying a new 5 day PHP will cost $249.10 less the $49.03 credit = $200.07.

Hope that gives you a better idea of what you'll get. Glad to hear that CBR Guest Services can handle this for you. Have a great trip!

Hi, I have checked tickets on all the sites. The Floridaorlandotickests. com is cheaper than the one you mentioned. If you go to mousesavers you can see the site under discout tickets. I am going to get 6 day plus tickets, they are $274.00 for an adult, that is with tax. I have not seen them cheaper any where, this is also cheaper than AAA. Have a nice day Corvair

...checked for discounted prices on www.centralfloridaattractiontickets.com an got a price of $249.00 (w/tax) for a 5 day Plus (adult price). My DH doesn't want to do this - he says that it's a scam. Besides, how do I trade in the "old" ticket???? I would rather purchase at my hotel (CBR) than chance it with these "other guys"!!! (They also said that they cannot mail the tickets to your home because, when they go thru the mail, something happens to the magnetized bar in the back of the ticket and cancel them out....?!?!?!?! Anyone ever heard of this?? (hiw do credit card companies sned out credit cards without this happening, too???)

Countdown:
2 months - 26 days - 20 hours - 15 minutes to WDW!!!!

Kimmar, check out the site I told you about. It is mousesavers and it tells you all about it. They are authorized. They also mail them to you in seven days. I have never used them but on this board other people have and say they are great. corvair

You can't. There are authorized ticket sellers who do sell WDW passes at slightly lower prices than Disney and are not a scam. But the ONLY place you can trade in the old pass for credit towards a new one is at Disney. Period.

My daughter just came back in March from a WDW vacation. She has one day and 2 plus features left on her PHP.
We are travelling to WDW in Jan. 2003. I am wondering if I will be able to upgrade her PHP to an Ultimate Park Hopper??

I don' t know if this would be the better alternative to:
1. purchasing a new 7n/8d Ultimate Park Hopper?
2. purchasing a new 7d PHP with 4 plus features?

I don't now if it is worth buying the 7d PHP because this does not include any admission to Disney Quest. I know we will be going to DQ at least once (her 18 y.o. brother LOVES DQ!!) so we would have to pay an addtional $30.74 w/o discount for admission.
Any thoughts?
Tjanks,
Figment
