Does nayone have recent experience with this? For example, if I were to fly into MCO but out of RSW(FT.MEYERS)? I would be originating from Chicago and landing in Chicago, and all flights would be on AA., but have 2 kids and know 1 way tickets require additional security checks, and I do not want the kids to be seperated from me at all. Can anyone help?

Not quite sure what you are asking but once you go through security on the first leg unless you walk outside you wouldn't need to go through security anymore.

When I fly several legs to get to a city I only go through security once.

Sorry, I'll try to expllain better. We would be leaving from Chicago and land in Orlando, stay for the week. Then rent a car and drive to see family who live 4 hours away near Ft. Meyers, so would want to fly home back to Chicago from there. I am wondering if this is treated as 2 one-way bookings, thus the security concerns, or as a round trip since we would be using the same airline, just 3 different airports in all.

Are both the segments on the same reservation number? If they are, then the computer shouldn't treat it as a one-way trip.

Well, I have not booked it yet, but on the "hold" ressie it is listed as one confirmation number.

Finfan, we did this in March. We flew out of Chicago to Orlando, stayed at WDW, rented a car, drove to my family's place in Placida, drove up to Tampa to fly home to Chicago. No additional security/raised eyebrows. People do it a lot. Did fly out of Ft. Myers airport last March, be sure to get any food before you go through security, there are no food vendors once you pass through security (which we learned the hard way, and had the security guards looking at us funny when we came through twice within 30 minutes!).:wave2:

Thanks Disneylovers...Yeah, I have been traveling thru RSW for as long as I can remember! I was thrilled when they built that airport as I no longer needed to fly to TPA nad then hop on a DC3 to Naples airport. I know what you mean about the food:p altho I usually have a whole lunch sack filled w/stuff!
Where are you in Naperville (pm me)? That's where I am! I mean, there's only 140,000 of us, you could be down the street!
I have family in Cape Coral and Naples, yet we would like to do WDW also, and it does not feel right to be all the way there and not see them, but airfare in late Dec is brutal. We thought we only had 7 days to work with but may have more now, so will be hit w/a SIZE-ABLE penalty and am now trying to get the most out of this trip as I can.

Thanks Safetymom....we went ahead and stayed w/a roundtrip as the fares were better, enought to cover the rental car anyway...but very grateful for the info as I am sure I will be doing multicity in the future!
