mugs

ok...please don't kill me here!
I have been reading all of the wonderful posts about the resort mugs.
I am just wondering if someone can help me with a few questions!!!
I have not been to WDW in 10 yrs!!

When you buy a mug..is it something that is only refillable at your resort?
We will be staying at OKW and I wonder if they will be worth buying them since we have a full kitchen???

What do you guys think?

Welcome to the DIS, 2Disneybabies!

The mugs are good only at the resort where it is purchase for the length of your stay. Officially, they can not be used at other resorts or on future trips. It says it right on the mugs.

What can you refill them with? I don't drink coffee or tea, but I might have a hot chocolate in the am. Same for the kids. I don't think I will use it in the evening for soda.

Also, are they insulated and spill proof?

I wouldn't bother with them at OKW. You will either have a full sized kitchen or a galley style kitchen (studio) with a generous sized refrigerator. You can only refill them at Olivia's and Good's to Go (I think).

I thank you for your help. We are staying in a 2 bedroom unit so we will have the full size kitchen...so I guess we will probably pass on it! We are also renting a very small car so that someone can make a quick trip to the market! I guess that will probably be more cost effective!!!

Without a doubt. We're staying at VWL in January, and even there, we'd be better of using wegoshop to get soda and water to our room (since we're not renting a car) than using refillable mugs.
