I have not been to Disney since 97'. I have seen some info about the refillable mugs. How does this work? We will be staying at the All Star Music resort. It is a girls weekend being Grandma, my daughter and myself.
Thank you

We also plan on visiting other resorts on one day just to see them. Can we refill the mugs there? Or only at our resort?

The mug looks like a travel coffee mug, if I remember correctly it is about $12.00 with tax. You can refill it at your resort food court for the length of your stay. You can fill it with soda, coffee, tea etc.

It was very worth it for us!

The mugs are so great! All you do is purchase a refillable mug for each person in your party (I believe they are about $12.95/$13.95) at the food court. After you purchase them fill em up for free with your fave beverage...Disney has all kinds of Coke and Minute Maid products. The mugs are totally worth the price...we love filling them up when we come in late at night from the parks. :wizard:

You simply purchase a refillable mug in your resort's food court. You'll be able to find them easily. There are usually a couple of displays with them around the checkouts.

Once you purchase the mug, you are allowed to refill them as many times as you want throughout your stay. There are some limitations on what you can get as a refill. If I am remembering correctly, you might not can get juices and milk. I think everything else is acceptable. Someone at your resort can give you a rundown on what you can get.

We always drive and are able to bring along extra water, milk and colas so we never buy the mugs. We also have a refrigerator in our room (stay at the CBR) to keep our fresh fruit, left over desserts, etc.

If you aren't planning on hanging around the resort much, you might not want to buy a mug. It just depends on how many times you plan on going to the food court. I believe the mugs are now approximately $12.00 so you'd just have to do the math on whether or not it would be cost efficient for you buys.

In answer to your other question, no you cannot use your resort mug at other resorts, only at your own.

Last year in August, we purchased mugs at Pop Century during the 1st part of our split-stay week. When we moved over to the Polynesian, we kept using the same mugs during our stay. They are the same design at all the resorts. No one is going to ask you which resort you got it from. There was a time when each resort had their own mug design, but that changed during the "Year of A Million Dreams" promotion.

Since all the Resorts are now selling the Year of a Million Dream logo mugs you can refill your mug at any Resort, because there is no way for anyone else to tell where the mugs were purchased. However the only Resort you can not refill them is Coronado Springs Resort, since their dining locations are not owned by WDW and because of that they are the only Resort which sells their Resort logo mugs.

Also the actual cost of the mugs is $12.49 + tax.

I think this may be a sour question but.....does anyone ever bring their mugs with them when making return trips? I ask this because we were there in May and guests had that resort mug but a different style/graphic on them and they didn't seem to have any problems whatsoever.

Are they still selling the YOAMD mugs now? I like to buy the resort specific mugs

Has anyone ever filled them up at the resort and then taken them into the parks? I thought this would be a good idea, but then we would be stuck with them for the whole day.

We used to do this, but then we're stuck carrying sticky mugs the rest of the day:worried: .

You can now use them at most of the resorts I know Coronado Springs is an exception. Plus they make great souviners for when you get home:bitelip:
