Mug refill at AKL

It will be our first stay at AKL and we will be getting refillable mugs. Where can these be refilled? What drinks are available?

Just came back last week from the AKL and loved it! The refillable mugs can only be refilled at the Mara (the AKL snack bar/ food court). The Mara is close to the pool and many rooms. They have coffee, tea bags and hot water, ice tea and sodas.

I've always wanted to do the mugs at AKL, but our rooms have always been too far away for us to really take advantage.

Does anyone know if apple juice is part of the refillable mug program at Mara? My kids both take medicine that needs to be dissolved in juice so it would be great if we could get it there in a refillable mug. Thanks!

Was at AKL two weeks ago. For soda, they had Coke, Diet Coke, Caffeine-free Diet Coke, Cherry Coke, HI C pink lemondade, etc. Our rooms were at the end of the Zebra trail and I didn't think it was that big a deal to walk down to Mara to get a refill. If you like to drink coffee the mugs are a great deal. Think they were charging something like $2.25 for a 10 oz paper coffee cup.

Just curious about the pic of you on the Segway. Is there somewhere that you can rent these or just try them out? Is it costly? Thanks!

No apple juice with the refillable mugs. Juice is sold at Mara in bottles so you could get a bottle of juice and bring it back to your room and put it in the fridge. If you are on the meal plan, juice is a beverage you can pick to go along with your meal, though.

Same here. We spent $50 on the mugs, but only ever felt like walking to the Mara no more than once a day because our room was in no man's land (I'm not complaining about that location, but it was far away!). We ended up getting bottled water & sodas at Walmart anyway.

So, I think it all depends on how willing you are to walk to the Mara & how far away it is. Next trip we won't do the mugs if we're far away.

ETA: And I forgot to mention that my stupid stupid dog got into one of our bags from the trip and chewed up a mug! I don't know why she'd do such a thing!
