I got this from the latest Passporter News:

The Disney Cruise Line has added soda to the drink station on Deck 9! The Drink Station is open 24 hours and now features Coke products as well as juice, milk, and water. Soda has also been added as a beverage option to buffet meals on board and at Castaway Cay. The extra-charge refillable mug program has been discontinued due to the wider availability of no-charge soda. NOTE: There is still a charge for soda through room service or at any of the bars onboard.

They also have fresh brewed tea at the drink station on deck 9 (although the machines were out of order last week)

I was so looking forward to the tea on Deck 9 and just about died when the machines were out of order all week. Soda station is one of the best things Disney has done although soda got flatter and flatter as the week went on. :(

I know! I kept going up there hoping the tea machines would be fixed but alas were not. I thought it was just me but you thought the soda was off too by the end of the week? I was happy though that they had diet sprite. I love diet coke - but sometimes need a break from the caffeine.

If it was the same tea I tried the week before, you didn't miss anything. It worked for a couple of days and I noticed toward the end of the week an "out of order" sign stayed on the machine.

Could someone tell us what soda drinks are at the drink station please? Someone said Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. What else in the way of soda?

Thanks
:fish:

From what I can remember it was: Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Diet Sprite, some form of HI-C (like fruit punch or lemonade), then there was ice water, and ice tea (not working). I can't remember if there was anything else.::MinnieMo

I'm glad they did this. I agree this is one of the best things they could have done.

Is seltzer, aka soda water, tonic water, club soda available at the drink station?

Oddly enough, when we sailed a few weeks ago, we had fresh brewed iced tea for dinner at all the restaurants, but tap swill for lunch in Triton's on Nassau day? Has anyone else had tap tea on board lately?

I only drink seltzer. I would love to have it free. It would be nice not having to carry it on. Hopefully some seltzer loving cruiser will know. :D

Yes to the diet sprite! I was so excited. They have it at the drink station on deck 9 and I believe you can order it at the restaurants too.

For some reason I was also thinking they had milk at the drink station on 9 as well. Is this still the case? (someone had asked what was on the drink station and I couldn't remember if this was the case)

Yes, they do have a milk dispenser. I believe that it is actually intended for use in the coffee and tea (there is one spigot for milk and one for half/half as I recall) but it is the regular cafteria type milk dispensers so there is a large quantity that someone could access if they wanted milk.

I called Disney today to inquire as to the seltzer issue.

The short answer is "I don't really know". While the CM I spoke to was extremely nice she was not, however, very informative. Her suggestion was to look at the soda machine to see if there was a separate button for dispensing the seltzer before it is mixed with the soda syrup. Apparently, there are several of these types of machines at WDW and you can obtain seltzer that way.

So a huge favor to ask all you near recent cruisers, would you mind terribly looking for the "secret button" for the seltzer?????

ciadriamom, thanks for trying to find out. I am one of the people who love seltzer but hate pop. I tried to write the cruise line and all I got back was,

"The complimentary soda selections on Deck 9 and at Castaway Cay are:

Coke
Diet Coke
Sprite
Diet Sprite
Pink Lemonade
Hi-C Fruit Punch

Disney Cruise Line does not prohibit our guests for bringing alcohol or other beverages onboard
however, it is not recommended. Please note that any fragile items must be hand-carried aboard in
your day bag. We are not responsible for damage caused by fragile items in your checked luggage.
Also, if alcohol is brought back into the U.S., it is possible that Customs could administer the
appropriate taxes.

Additionally, personal coolers may not be brought onboard except for those needed for medications,
baby food, or items related to a dietary constraint. Bringing coolers on board for any other reason
will be prohibited."

So not the answer I was looking for. I still don't get them saying no coolers and then accepting them anyway. Grrrr.

Jax677 - nice to know I'm not the only one in the world who doesn't drink soda, Hopefully we'll get some resolutrion to this question before we sail (oct. for me) If I find out anything else, I"ll be sure to pass it on.

I may try calling again, and maybe a different CM will have a more concrete answer.
