Just returned Thursday from our first cruise and LOVED it. Thanks to all of you for the great tips. Sadly, it is not the beautiful sunsets, mints on my pillow, or the warm breeze of Castaway Cay that I am missing the most. It is the delicious mueseli at breakfast. Does anyone have a recipe? I know, I'm weird! ;)

If you go to the DCL site and poke around a bit you can find a "Contact us". I have always received answers to my post cruise questions when I submitted them there. I have mostly asked for recipes and they come through - it may take a day or two though.

My wife did the same after our last Cruise. We could not find a "Disney" recipe for the Muesli, but we did find a recipe out on the "net" for Swiss Muesli that contains slow-cook oats, milk, nuts, and then after it sits overnight, you take a tart apple and shred it into the mix. My wife loves it, and while it's not Disney's, she says it comes close...

I will see if I can find it...

Don't get me wrong, I am usually pretty loyal to the Captain myself! This muesli was sweet and creamy, not sawdusty at all! That's why I need the recipe. I also love Boo Berry, but that's another story! :lmao:

Thanks ! I will be forever in your debt! :worship:

My DF and I also fell in love with the Muesli!

We make our own version at home which is not even close but that's because in real life we drink (and therefore use) skim milk. On the ship they use the whole milk or possibly even cream! That's okay for vacation but not all the time!

We make it with oats, raisins, almond slivers and skim milk, from time to time we also toss in apples bananas or berries as the mood strikes us :)

Qwisp and Quake were my favorites as a kid. I read you can still by Qwisp on the Internet, Quake is long gone.
My cupboard current contains a box of Captain Crunch and a box of Great Value (Walmart brand) Strawberry Awake. The Captain is for me.....he and I spend a few minutes together at 2 am every morning ( I have to be at work at 3 am) and the Strawberry Awake is for my 18 year old.

Here's a recipe from allrecipes.com. I haven't had the DCL muesli yet, but read about it on here, which prompted me to find a recipe. I found this one and LOVE it. We have been eating it for about a year now and even my 3 yo dd loves it. I double the recipe and omit the sunflower seeds and add slivered almonds. I also add 1/2 cup dried blueberries, 1/2 cup dried cherries, and 1/2 flax seeds. Sooooooo good. Here's the link if you want to read the reviews: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Muesli/Detail.aspx

4 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup toasted wheat germ
1/2 cup wheat bran
1/2 cup oat bran
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
