Muddy Buddy Training!

Gotta go work out, coach Don's orders! Be back in a bit.

Ohh...and I got to talk to Paul...

First DIS'er I've actually spoken to on the phone, let alone met.

go workout Paul...your on my team now, there will be no slacking.

I figured I'd call with the info and say hi to my main man Puck! Nice talking to you Don. Take care of that back! :thumbsup2

I think it's terrific that you guys got to talk to each other. Ya know...We get caught up in posting all the time. It's refreshing to actually speak to people you post with so often. I feel like I know you guys and many of the others on this board so well speaking with you is/would be a pleasure.... :thumbsup2

Hey Everyone: OK, I'm back from Erie. We had a good time. I ran 3.75 miles when we got back. It was a good run. Aaron, nice to have you as a partner. We're going to have fun.

Good to hear from you Dave. Running against each other is a good idea. Remember, it's not nice to make the fat old guy look bad!! :lmao: Intrigued? how come? Explain please. :goodvibes
Paul, maybe intrigued was the wrong word to use. I was just thinking that the two of us were pretty evenly matched, and it would be fun to go head to head. I like that we balanced the teams. I was thinking you (Paul) and I could go head to head, Don and Aaron could go head to head, and it will be a pretty good race between the teams.

Honestly, I don't know where and when I'll finish as long as we make it to the mudd pitt. Maybe I don't have very high asperations, but my goal for this race is to finish it and have some fun along the way with my "partners in crime".

I'm hoping to get out for a run tonight. Thank goodness for Daylight Savings Time. Having an extra hour of daylight makes running outside a little easier.

I'm with you Aaron. Although I'm afraid my competitive spirit will kick in and I'll burn out. Hopefully I can maintain a pace that won't kill me.

Yea...Tha whole adreniline thing. I know what you mean. Standing around the start line might make you feel somewhat super human.

This is how I always race Aaron. I'd much rather have fun and run with my friends than try to be too competitive. I'm really not that competitive at all. Good luck with your run this evening.

Hey Guys,

I was looking over some of the Muddy Buddy specifics over lunch. I see their are 5 segments to the race (I think Paul told me that before). They are suggesting the stronger runner should run at the start of the race so they get 3 of the 5 running segments.

I also noticed the course terrain is somewhat rough...Lots of hills, off-road, etc...I even saw where you might have to go through water up to your waist depending on the course (I saw that on a video)....Fun and interesting at the same time. :thumbsup2

I think we both know who is running 3 of the 5 don't we Aaron ;)

Looks like fun from the video!! Can't wait. I can manage 2 miles at a decent clip I think.

:lmao: Well, I didn't want to assume anything, but yea...it's somewhat obvious. :lmao:
Probably 2.3 or 2.5 miles, but yea...I think I can tackle that at a decent pace.

Please do! The more the merrier....I stole the idea from Aaron anyway!
I love your message Don. I'm going to change my signature. That way we are all consistant. Solidarity Brothers! :thumbsup2

I must admit, I noticed it on yours first, and then I saw it on Aaron's. I think we're starting to get some attention on our fundraising page.

I'm back from 1.2 mile run. I didn't stop at all during the run.

I have an interesting problem. I'm noticing towards the end of my run, and especially after I'm done, my throat is burning. I'm not sure if its my lungs or my throat, but honestly it feels like my throat. I could be wrong.

It could be the way I'm breathing when I run. I breath in and out of my mouth. I believe the correct method of breathing is through your nose and out your mouth....Does that sound right? My thought is I'm taking in too much air through my mouth which is causing the burning.
