I would really like to surprise my husband w/ a trip to Disney. We do not have kids and really get annoyed when we are around too many of them. So am I crazy for wanting to go to DW???? do you have any suggestions for hotels, restaurants, or parks that are more adult friendly. We would like to go end of may beginning of june. Is this concidered peak season. Thanks!!:confused3

If you stay at a value resort you will be swamped with kids. For a moderate try Coronado Springs or a deluxe like Animal Kingdom or Yacht/Beach club. Restaurants? stay away from character dining if you dont like kids. Go to Boma or Jiko or any of the signature restaurants

DH and I visit WDW every year or two. We raised two kids and like kids but do get annoyed at poor behavior that is not dealt with by parents. That said my first advise to you is to consider going in the Fall when schools are more likely to be in session. Also avoid Fantasyland until the last hour that MK is open. Unless you eat only at places like V&A or Jiko there will be lots of kids around. You really just need to accept the fact that there are kids every where and lots of them are cranky and tired. We have had a few episodes that put a damper on our vacation, but nothing that would keep us from going back. It still amazes me that the Disney Cruise ships and the island they sail to have kid free areas but WDW doesn't. (except V&A)

Go. Relax. Move at your pace. Have a ball.

The two hotels we enjoy are the Swan/Dolphin. We have stayed at the POFQ and have enjoyed nice quiet stays. It all really depends on the guests staying at the same time you are how quiet it will be.
We also did a Disney Cruise last year and it was great!

However, you obviously will see children. For the most part, we have found many to be well-behaved. It's only situations where the child is having a complete meltdown, do we look for a way out. ;)
