I admit it...I'm chomping at the bit to get my airfare taken care of. I hate waiting til the last minute, even figuaratively speaking.

I also do not want to pay any more than I have to.

My dates are actually 11/30-12/8. Right now, NWA has flights for $288 and Sun Country has flights for $292 or thereabouts. I know I can get tix with Hobbit Travel for SC for a little less. And I'm NOT, repeat, NOT flying Airtran to WDW under any circumstances.

I know in the past, I've snagged a good deal...$220s...in March/April timeframe. Nothing like that happened this year.

I know some of you have purchased airfare closer the departure.

Anyone remember around the time your purchased? Even a month would give me some general idea. I've got farewatchers and Yapta set up already, but I'm looking for some guideline.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

We are going from 12/12-12/26 I know what you mean. We can get non stop on northwest for about $255 but I am so afraid they are going to have a sale or worse the price goes up. But I am like you and I want to have my airfare because that means no matter what we go... can't get our airfare back.

Just curious why not Airtran?

Airtran changes their schedules too often for my comfort and you're lucky if they contact you.

I also don't like that they only have 1 non-stop. In the past, and as recently as this weekend, they have changed a non-stop flight to a flight with a stop and then had zero non-stop flights.

It's not worth their lower prices to have my schedule messed around with, perhaps messing up ADRs that I have on both ends of my vacation because they can't keep their act together to keep their schedule somewhat consistent.

At least with NWA and SC, their schedules are fairly consistent...no more than a few minutes change, if any, in any direction.

No, Airtran would have to offer something astronomically low for me to even consider giving them my business to MCO.

zulaya we always go in December and usally find our best prices come August or September. We have found better earlier but you don't need to sweat yet.
Over the weekend SC had flights for $199. I missed those buy 30 minutes.
Over the last 10 years we have averaged about $200 a seat. $220 last year, and as cheap as $99. Not sure if we'll ever see that again but who knows.
This year I'm looking for Nov 30th till December 19th, Have to go to a conference in Orlando first before WDW but some how I'll manage.

pugdog...REALLY! They had it for $199 over the weekend! For December dates?

DANG! I'd a jumped on that if I was able.

How did you hear about it? And how did you know you missed it by 30 minutes? Do you happen to know what day(s) the sale was on for?

I did one of my multiply daily trips to Expedia and saw the price. Since I don't want to pay the extra $5 to expedia I then went to the SC website and the price was gone. This was on Saturday. KARE just had a story on that said the best time to look for cheap fares is now Saturday AM. So it must be related to that and I plan on looking again this saturday again and hopefully get that deal again.
