June 7th

Woke up again to the sound of rushing waters (VV's gigantic waterfall) and got dressed for our day at MGM.

First up we decided to ride the Tower of Terror. My dd thought that she was "hot stuff" since she handled herself well on Splash Mountain, Barnstormer, and Big Thunder Mountain. She figured that Tower of Terror would be "a piece of cake." She even told my ds that it was okay if he was too chicken to ride; and that this ride was for big kids--not babies. Well, Ms. Thang got on that ride and hollered her little head off. Probably because I was screaming too. LOL. Poor thing was saying "make it stop, Mommy." I'm sorry but that was too funny. We did the parent swap thing so after my dd and I rode, my dh handed off our ds to me. My ds (a future comedian) kept asking my dd how the ride was. My dh wasn't too impressed by the ride.

After traumatizing my child, we decided to get fastpasses for RNR coaster. We knew that she would not be riding this one. During our wait, we decided to get a bite to eat and then headed over to see BATB. As soon as the show was over, it started to drizzle. That meant that a lot of attractions would be off limit. I was disappointed because I wanted to do the Backlot Tour and the HISTK play area (things that we missed last time). So we decided to do MuppetVision 3-D (we had seen this before).

Finally it was time to ride RNR coaster. I'll admit, I was excited! My dh decided at the last moment not to ride. The cast member told us that we couldn't do a parent swap--since the children were unable to ride, they could not get in line. One of us would have to wait with them outside. That didn't sound right, but we didn't argue the point. So because I really wanted to ride, my dh agreed to wait with the kids while I got on the ride.

I am only familiar with one of AeroSmith's songs (Dude Looks Like a Lady), but I was very impressed with the pre-show. When we jumped in the "limo" and did the countdown, I started to get a little nervous because of the ride being totally in the dark and because we would be going upside down. I gathered myself together and off we went. That was the best ride! I got off and of course I bought the ride photo (especially since I had a $2 off coupon from the Tower of Terror ride.) I begged my dh to try it, but he didn't want to. CHICKEN!

We walked around and ended up in the Villain's store where I bought some souvenirs and the Pooh Store. We managed to catch the last two minutes of the parade--oh well.

After awhile, it decided to rain--again. This time, it was a downpour. And, this time, we did not have our rain gear. We made makeshift rain bonnets out of merchandise bags. Not the greatest fashion statement, but at least our hair would not get wet (more so for my dd and I.)

We headed back to VV and called it a day. Tomorrow would be our last full day in Florida.
:(

I love that Villains store - I am a fan of the villains - so it is a fun time for me - thanks for posting!

I'm going to really try to work up the courage to do RnR in the fall. I swore off roller coasters since Space Mountain in '93, but everyone raves about RnR.

I've been enjoying your reports especially since my 3 will be 8, 6 and 4 when we go in 3 months. I like to get a feel what other kids at that age are enjoying.

Well, the RnR is a good one. My boyfriend did it last year and loved it...however, he was chicken to do Splash Mountain...go figure...

Another great day for you and family!
