MSEP at 11...park close at 11? How does that work?

We are going either the last week of August or the first week of September. I've looked at Josh's calendar and it says that on most nights MK closes at 11 and also: MSEP 9 & 11; Wishes 10pm.

How is this possible? If MSEP kicks off at Main Street at 11:00 it won't finish at Frontierland until...like 11:45 or something? But you're supposed to leave at 11:00 because the park is closed? So does the parade start at 11:00 when everybody is gone?

I'm confused.

We'd like to see the MSEP and the second is always superior to the first show (easier to find place to stand). I don't want to wait for the 11:00 MSEP only to find out the park has closed and we have to leave and there really won't be an 11:00 parade.

When a park closes they just shut down the lines to the attractions (with everyone in line at that time still getting to ride). The shops remain open for at least an hour after that.

No one will make you leave a park. At some point CM's will make sure you can't go deeper into the park and gently usher you to the exit.

OP, I see what you're saying, I looked on the TA calendar , it says the same thing. You would think if it said MSEP at 9&11, the park would be open until at least 12, but it does say 11. Hopefully someone who knows what the deal is will come along and clarify. I don't understand that either.

That's how all the park's nighttime entertainment runs. Illuminations is at 9 and Epcot closes at 9, Fantasmic is usually scheduled at the same time DHS closes. The closing time just means they will close the lines for attractions at that time (but everyone already in line before closing will still be allowed to ride). Shops typically remain open up to an hour after official closing time. So in the case of MSEP at 11, you will be allowed to remain until the end of the parade but likely not allowed to move deeper into the park. Once the parade ends, people will be ushered towards the exit.

Ah, ok. I always go in October, and the hours for MK aren't so late, and there's only one parade, if that, at night, so I wasn't sure how'd that would work. Thanks.

Fantasmic is usually scheduled at the same time DHS closes.

For a second show, sometimes 30 minutes after it closes.

That's because Josh (the guy who writes easyWDW) uses the TA calendar.
