MS update on transferred points

I spoke with member services yesterday and transferred some points between contracts I have (both BWV). She read from a script on how you can only transfer once and all that. She went on to say that the points retain their home resort and use year. When she was done I asked her about this and she said that while there are still systems issues with tracking the home and UY, the morphing problem no longer exists (managers have to get involved to manually override). She also said there was a upgrade pending that would eliminate the manual workaround.

Anyone comment on if this is really true? I still think the enforcement of the one transfer rule had more to do with the home resort tracking and encouraging members to use extra points for non-DVC options than the commercial renter issue.
 
I certainly hope this is true.

I kept pretty quiet on the whole issue when it came up in August and even though I had a transaction that I had to cancel because I couldn't transfer the points, I think this is a very good move by member services if it is true.

The points are allocated based on home resort and use year... the loophole was causing an imbalance in the system becase of the point morphing.

Once they have the loophole totally closed out and eliminate the morphing issue entirely, I would be fine if they went back to the "relaxed" transfer rules that had been in the recent POS documents, but I'm also okay if they leave it as is.

I hope it's true but doubt it. They've always said they points retained their home resort and use year but they almost never did. I think it remains to be seen.
 
I spoke to MS today about my points. I have 160 SSR points for my 06 UY I want to keep BUT I am selling my contract. I was told I could transfer the points to one of my other contracts BUT they would keep their original UY and resort. BUT she also said that I could sell my SSR points AND keep the points that are reserved for future trips.

I got confused and so was she so she recommended I speak to someone in Administration tomorrow.
