MS says no online access until points are loaded?

Was informed by ms that they cannot give me online access until my points are actually loaded. Is this the norm? Ma has the resale contract transferred.
 
That is correct. Once MS has received the closing documents it still takes a day (or two) until the new contract is set up in the system - including the appropriate number of points.

It'll happen, just give it a little longer! :)
 
Thanks, just excited. We are also hoping to find 1 br at okw for the last week of April. At least we are finally to the last step.

I am in the exact same boat...waiting for points to be loaded this week...cannot wait to make my 1st DVC official reservations!!!

Not sure what exact dates you are looking for but right now there are 1-bedrooms available April 21-Aprili 28 at OKW and also at AKV with Savanna view. didn't check past 4/28.
 
When I originally read your post I thought were a current owner adding points. I realize now this will not apply to you OP, but I am going to leave it in case it helps someone else. I guess I was excited since I finally got access to my points!

I am a current owner who just added another resale contract. I called Member Administration last Friday and they looked up the contract by the former owner's name. I was told at that time that I should call back in a week to see if I was in the system (I was thinking I needed my new membership number to logon online, since the new contract was a different UY). What happened instead was yesterday I was online messing with my original contract and noticed that it had me listed as having 2 membership numbers (although there were no points available in the second). I was doing the same today when voila :wizard:, the points mysteriously appeared! So, good luck to you and maybe it will be easier/sooner than you expect.
 
The contract info is added to your account by one person and the points are loaded by a different person. Sometimes there can be a couple of days delay between the two.

Thanks quinnc19, your situation is exactly where I am. I am a current member, buying a resale with a different UY. I got notice that my closing was done and paperwork was sent to DVC. So hopefully I will see if magically appear in a few days.

I'd go ahead and contact MS. It usually is completed in about a week, but sometimes happens sooner (and often takes a few days longer).

To answer the origonal question no this has not been the historic norm. Typically if you called once the contract was loaded MS would give you the temp password information to access your account even though there were no points loaded yet.

Maybe they is a new proceedure, or maybe you just got an CM who was uninformed or jsut did not want to "bother" since you could not book a reservation.

From my experiance and what others have posted 3-8 days to get the contract in is the common range and 0-3 more day to get the points loaded.

I do know that over the years the timeframe seams to stretch during adn just after spring break due to direct sales volume
 
I'm not the norm here I guess. I closed the 19th, called on the 1st and still not in the system. Called back on the 2nd they said it was done on the 30th and they gave me all my numbers to set up my online account. I went online and no points have been added yet. I can look around and check availability, which there is :goodvibes, but can't book it yet. :worried:
