Hi all,

My publisher sent me an email with all the pages of my book in it. I want to create a PowerPoint presention using those pages but I am totally clueless as to how to get the pages from the email into PowerPoint. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Probably can help, but first.... What format are the pages currently in (assuming your publisher attached the pages as a file of some sort)?

Same question I was going to ask.

Thanks for the replies but I have to wait to get home until I answer this question. The email is saved on my home PC.

Sorry I have to bump this because I'm getting desperate. Thanks. The illustrations I want to use are saved as .pdf file in an email I received from my publisher. I use MS Outlook as my email program. All the illustrations were sent in one email, not seperate.

Open powerpoint and open adobe. In adobe, use the selection tool (the "I" next to the "hand") and the mouse to select what you want to copy. On the edit menu select copy. Now switch to powerpoint and paste what you copied. You'll have to resize it as it will likely copy over too big. You can do that by finding the bottom right corner of what you copied, click on it, and "drag it" smaller. Play with it a while, it will make sense after you've seen it.

I went to the help section in PowerPoint and this is what I found:

Can I import PDF content into a PowerPoint presentation?
Yes, it is possible for you to import PDF content from another application into a PowerPoint presentation; however, you will not be able to work with this content as you can with text. When you bring PDF content into your PowerPoint presentation, it acts like an object or an image, rather than text that you can edit.
To obtain the most up-to-date information on how to import PDF content into a PowerPoint presentation, review the PowerTools for PowerPoint PowerUsers - Import PDF content into PowerPoint instructions located on The PowerPoint FAQ Web site.

Can I convert a PDF file into a PowerPoint presentation?
PowerPoint does not directly support converting a PDF file into a PowerPoint presentation. However, you can paste a PDF file from Adobe Acrobat Reader into a PowerPoint slide.

To obtain instructions on how to paste a PDF file into a PowerPoint slide, read the Microsoft Knowledge Base article How to put Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 (*.pdf) files on a slide in PowerPoint 2002 and PowerPoint 2003. (You can find the link to this article by typing the above question in blue in the Help feature in PP.)

Hope this helps!

Sometimes I have a heck of a time getting things to copy over in the format they were in. So often I have to paste it into "paint" then cut it out of there and paste it into the powerpoint page that you want it on.

Thanks for the info everyone. I managed to get my presentation created and it looks great! Thanks again.

David
