Is it worth it to have the DDP AND the DDE? We figured we would have plenty of food on the DDP. We are not alcohol drinkers if the DDE works on alcohol purchases, so would it benefit us?

We will be travelling Nov.07 with a party of 9 on the DDP, and just the 4 of us March 2008, no DDP. I figured the DDE would be good for the March trip, and I may as well just purchase it in Nov. for that trip as we do tend to do some drinking, mostly wine and the odd mixed drink, and there are a few other instances we might use it. May as well have both for both trips.

Just wanted to confirm that you can use the temporary membership cards to purchase the APs - we did this in December with no problems!

You have to have an AP/PAP when you order - either the actual pass or a voucher to purchase. You do not have to have an AP/PAP to USE the discount card, so as long as you order it before your AP/PAP expires, you're good to go.

Okay, this may sound a little odd, but would it work?

If you can get DDE with an AP voucher, would it be possible to get the voucher, order the DDE, and then hold off on redeeming the voucher? We're looking at picking up APs in November as we will have more trips next summer, but we will also be there this April for 3 days. If we could get DDE with a voucher, but hold off on activating the voucher until November, we could save enough to pay for the DDE just in our 3 nights in April.

I've been trying to talk my husband into getting one AP to get DDE for our April trip, but the numbers just don't work with the potential for 3-4 trips in 12 months after November - it makes more sense to wait, pass-wise. But I'd still love to save some money on food this time around...

Just to clarify: Your "time" on your AP does not start until you activate it at guest services, right? It's only the DDE card that runs about a year from the time you order it.

Anyone have any info on how long it takes the DDE card to arrive once you order it? Is 8 weeks enough, you think? Edit: NM, I see someone already said it only takes a week or two. 8 weeks should be plenty.

While I don't think it is truly "in the spirit" of the rule that allows the DDE to be ordered with a voucher, I don't see why it wouldn't work to do it that way.

A voucher for a new AP will be dated on the date it was activated at WDW. A renewal voucher will be backdated to the expiration of the original pass.
