Why do they have to make paying dues so difficult!!!

Since I can't though on the 800 number, I'm on hold via the 407 number, and the music is blaring in my ear. The voice told me I have a 20 minute wait ahead...

If their website worked, this wouldn't be an issue!!!

These dues are not due until 1/15 and past due 2/14.

What happens (if anything) if you pay between those dates? We always paid by the due date, but with all the complaints, I am thinking of waiting.

Will Mickey think badly of me?;)

I have been trying to call this afternoon also. It is 3:53CST and the 800# is busy and has been for 15 minutes. What's up? I need to talk to MS about my reservation for this Friday...

I've been trying to get through for two days. Why does DVC seem to have so many technical difficulties? Working phones and internet booking access seem like *hotel business 101* to me. I'd gladly give up every towel animal I've ever gotten for a fully-functioning website to make my reservations and pay my dues ;)

I called accounting the other day to take care of the monthly dues. I was on hold for 1/2 hour.

What's up is that January is crunch time at MS with DVC owners making December reservations at their home resorts plus the calls to accounting. I think January has always been a tough time to call MS.

I called late last week and got the busy signal a couple of times. I then used the 407 number and got through in about 15 minutes.

I am making my day-to-day ( I hate it!) Dec '08 reservations, and have been dealing with busy signals and long wait times as well.

What gets me the most is when the recording of the cheerful CM asks me if I've "been to DVC.com lately?" I usually end up screaming in the phone - "If I could do what I needed to do on-line, I would gladly do it!" :furious:

I pay my dues right on 2/13 every year. My new credit card cycle starts on the 13th so I don't have to make the actual payment until the end of March. It has never been a problem.

Thanks, Mike :)

I had the same problem with a busy signal on the 800# yesterday morning. It was busy for 15-20 minutes, then when I finally got through, I was on hold for awhile. I was calling at 6:15 a.m. PST since I had to go to work and I don't have a long enough pocket of time to call at school. By the time school's done, MS is closed for us West Coast people. Sometimes it can be frustrating. Thankfully, they're extending their days/hours!

I called yesterday to pay my dues. Tried in the morning around 9:15 EST and the 800 # keep ringing busy so I tried the 407 # and got right through with no problem with only a 5 minute wait, I did ask for accounting, and paid my dues. I told the CM that I tried to pay online with lots of problems and finally gave up. He said yes I know, sounds like the CMs are just as upset about the online issues as we are.

Unfortunately, I forgot that I also needed to check my reservation for this month and had to call back in the afternoon. Just kept hitting the redial for the 800# and finally got through after about a 1/2 hour with about a 10 minute wait. Not to bad I guess.

Unfortunately MS is overwhelmed this time of year. Between the December reservations and the payment of dues.

I am currently booking our first DVC stay for Dec. When calling MS, I noticed that after the first round of "press 1 if" statements and you move onto the second round of "press 1 if", there is a BIG lag of dead time after they tell you that the menu has changed. So much so, I almost hung up because I thought I had gotten disconnected. The second thing I noticed was after you make your second selection to talk to a customer representative, it rings an excessive number of times before someone picks up.

This has happened every call (made three calls so far and need to make another 4). Is this normal?

I am experiencing the same thing. In fact, the first time I noticed the long lag time, I DID hang up, but was able to call right back. I am making my day-by-day for a BW view studio in Dec: 3 calls down and 9 more calls to go!

Best of luck -- Suzanne

Yes, the MS phone system has been overwhelmed this week. The long silences and extended ringing is confusing - I hung up once, too. I did manage to reserve BWV standard view for early August (darn all you Christmas people - the 7-month window for August is the same as the December 11-month - guess I'm the only nut calling for a summer reservation). My wait times were not bad once I got through (maybe about 5 minutes total each of two times, calling right at 9 a.m. est).

I paid my dues online the last week of December with no problem. It's easy to do this if the website is working.

I could not get through using the 800# so I finally used the 407#. I got through, but was on hold for at least 10 minutes before I spoke to anyone. Oh well... I got done what I needed. :)
