We are planning (way in advance!) to go to DLR in April 2016 during my 6yo son's spring break. My younger son will be just a few months shy of 3yo at this time.

Because we are taking the full week, we know we will want a little more space; we are also hoping to have some other family join us. Therefore, we made the decision to rent a house rather than going the hotel route. After a fair amount of research, I have just booked the Mrs. Mouse Townhouse, and wanted to ask if any other folks have ever stayed there - and, if so, whether you have any tips that we should be aware of!

It's still 14 months away, but I'm so excited to be planning a DLR trip!

I have never stayed at that particular house on Walnut, but in terms of the general area, I would only comment that the nearest cross walk is at Walnut and Cerritos. Walnut is a fairly busy (divided where you appear to be staying) street. There are a couple of ways to get to the park from where you are, but the most common is either walking through DTD or using the walkway along the tram route. We had originally thought we would take the parking lot tram (you can access it from Magic Way), but in the end that was too much work (strollers!). So we usually either cut through the DLH to get to DTD or walked to the tram pathway on West St south of Magic Way.

Thanks, figment_jii! I had been leaning towards walking through DTD. It also looks like the monorail might be an easy route if coming from DL (especially if returning for mid-day naps with the toddler); would you say that's the case?...

Truthfully...I like the monorail as an attraction, but it's not really the most efficient mode of transportation. In most cases, you will need to fold up the stroller to fit it on the monorail. For my group, that was difficult because of all of the stuff in the stroller (kids, snacks, clothes, toys, etc.). Also, it only does to DL's TL, so you have to be there to catch the monorail or want to end up there. Also, given that the monorail is relatively small, if you have to wait for more than one to arrive, most folks can usually walk to the Esplande faster. So, I use the monorail as a ride or when I have a lot of time, but not has a primary transportation mode.
