Sunday 30th April 2006
Today we'd decided to have another slow start, l think the walking was catching up with us all. So went to Artists Palette for some Mickey waffles (yum) to go with breakfast
Made our way back to MGM for lunch at Sci-fi, which was so cool. The DS's thought it was great as they were at the front of the car watching the movie. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere! Both DS's wanted to go back to Star Tours
, so we ride it again a few times
and then l ask if we can go and watch Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage and get a BIG fat NO response
Oh well maybe next time then!!
After we've done in MGM we head back to SSR for a spot of sunbathing and swimming, followed later by a trip to DisneyQuest.
Monday 1st May
An early rise and breakie before heading to Blizzard Beach and again taking advantage of the Early Magic Hour. We picked a spot at Tike Peaks and got a couple of sunloungers in a prime location lol. We were very lucky as the park took ages to start to fill up, even by lunch time it was still quite quiet. We managed to ride the ski-chair lifts with no wait time up to the top and straight onto Teamboat Springs which is an absolute blast! This was repeated a few times lol, followed by many trips down Toboggan Racers
and then a more leisurely paced trip round Cross Country Creek. Is it just me or does anyone else have problem getting on those floats
?
Once we'd had our fill of water fun we headed to the Golden Corral, somewhere we'd not tried before but decided to give it a go as Simon's book said it was well worth a visit. OMG what have we been missing all this time, the food was amazing, so much to choose from and the quality was far nicer than the Ponderosa. l made a total pig of myself but woah was it good
Sugar overload or what???
Later in the evening we took a walk to DTD to gift shop and DH stopped a guy with a t-shirt with Mickey on the back as a fireman (
) so l asked the guy where it he'd got it from and he informed us that MK has its own Firestation (i didnt know that
). And guess what MK has EMH so off we go in search of a Firestation. After pleasing DH with his new t-shirt and my 'Firemans Wife Mickey badge' lol we get on the train to Big Thunder Mountain, ride that and DS's want to go over to Tom Sawyers Island. But its already shut so we promise we'll come back tomorrow, they request one last ride on Haunted Mansion and then we pick a spot to watch Spectromagic. The pavements were packed with ppl even 30mins before the show, we pick a space near the exit as not to get caught in the crowds afterwards. WARNING a bit of a moan coming up We'd sat patiently for 30mins near a walkway with a CM and her little rope, thinking that ppl wouldnt be able to stand in that walkway as the parade was passing but NO we were mistaken. She let the 'last-minute' watchers stand right infront of the DS's totally blocking their view, l thought this was totally unfair as we'd sat all that time waiting. We did get to see some of the parade but no pics
, straight after it had finished we headed to the exit and beat the crowds.

DH and eldest DS had booked to go to Sky Venture today. We had breakfast in the apartment, desparately trying to eat all the left over food lol Mayonnaise on your cereal anyone???
Drove to International drive and Sky Venture, booked in and went up onto the viewing platform. As there were some ppl in the tunnel we took the advantage to watch and think woah that looks so easy! DH & DS went off to get changed and have their video, and were back in no time. The flight was fantastic, the instructor holds onto you and gives hand signals to inform you what to do. DS found it a bit difficult to keep his legs straight but he thoroughly enjoyed it as did DH. (l got some funny video footage of DH with the wind blowing his cheeks
) They were awarded with a certificate and then the instructor's showed you how it should be done
We headed off to play a last game of golf on International Drive and then fill our faces at Golden Corral again lol
Later that evening we took out last trip to DTD for those last minute buys, oh l'm gonna miss this place
