Mrs. Jackson's Multicultural Lit Class Eats Around the World

The food and wine festival at Epcot was so much fun! I loved walking around and seeing all of the employees dressed in different countries representing the booths that they were working at.
My favorite dish was the cheddar cheese soup at Canada booth. Although I didn't expect it to be as spicy as it actually was, the overall taste was delicious! The soup was thick, and very filling. It had a great combination of soup, cheese, and other spices. The only bad part about this dish was that for $3.25, I only recieved a small cup of soup. But don't let that stop you becuase the soup tastes too good to not try!

Great reviews so far :thumbsup2

Gotta say, we tried the Kitchen Sink this summer and it is a sight to behold! With only 4 of us to eat it, there was a good bit leftover  but at least there was something in it for everyone to like (and someone to eat the stuff you don't ;) )

The Food and Wine Festival gave various food options for everyone. Not only is the food good, but the employees were really friendly.

I had the Cheddar Cheese Soup at the Montreal, Canada stand. I was surprised by the small kick it had; however, don't let this change your opinion about it if you don't like spicy foods because the spices were very mild. It was $3.25, which is relatively reasonable for Disney prices. It was a small portion, but very filling. If you love cheese like I do, this is perfect for you.

I also had an Iced Green Tea at a restaurant in Japan called Yakitori. It was $1.99 plus tax ($2.12). It was a large cup, but was extremely watered down. Although the members of my group who ate here LOVED the food, I would not recommend wasting your money on the tea, even at the cheap price.

One of my favorites, surprisingly, was Japan! I thought the food might not be safe to eat just because they had to make so much that I thought maybe the quality may not be that great. However, the California rolls were amazing! It had crab meat, avocado, fish eggs (which I was a little uneasy about initially), soy sauce, along with wasabe and ginger. They tasted just like any that one could buy at a real sushi bar. They cost about $4.00 which I think is reasonable for three sushi rolls!! People tend to eat with their eyes before tasting something and I thought they presented it very well. I recommend anyone try it... even if you don’t think you like sushi!

Another of my favorites was from Morocco!! It's called a Kefta and it is $3.95. This was a very reasonable price for this size portion. The best way to describe it would be a pita with fresh lettuce, tomato, and carrots, along with a beef patty inside. It had a very refreshing and new taste that I had never acquired which made it one of my most memorable!! I recommend anyone try this!!

Aside from the amazing Crème Brulee in France, another amazing dessert that may have, unfortunately, been overlooked is from the familiar San Francisco! This strawberry shortcake was so rich with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and moist shortcake all for the price of $2.75! Any sweets fans out there (including my pregnant teacher) are highly recommended to indulge in this mouth watering treat!!

The Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT was a fun experience for all. Not only do they have many different varieties of food from around the world, they also have it very reasonably priced.

I ate at the "Cantina de San Angel". I had the "Cantina Nachos" which consisted of: tortilla chips, beef, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, sour cream, black refried beans. All for only $7.95!

The tortilla chips were nice and hot, as was the beef. The cheese was very smooth (nacho cheese) and the tomatoes were nice and cold. The jalapeno peppers were hot, but not too hot. The sour cream added a nice mix to the whole meal, and the black refried beans were very tasty.

The whole meal tasted great. The price was more than what I would usually like to spend on a Mexican platter...but then again, it's EPCOT!!

I would DEFINITELY recommend trying this meal at EPCOT. If you have never had Mexican food before in your life, this will make you love it. Or you can go to your local Taco Bell. :)

I really enjoyed this dish! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the rice was a nice side dish. Even though it was delicious, it was a small portion for the price that you are paying. But overall I would reccommend it.

I would DEFINITELY recommend trying this meal. If you have never had Mexican food before in your life, this will make you love it. Or you can go to your local Taco Bell. :)

Great descriptions Derek, you've made me very hungry!!:thumbsup2

I went to the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco and ordered a lamb wrap that cost $9.95. It was amazing! The lamb wrap came with a side of tangerine cous cous and a lentil salad. The bread from the wrap was so fresh and delicious. The large quantities of lamb put in the wrap made it extra enjoyable as well as the white sauce. The cous cous had a cold taste that was very non appealing. The Lenil Salad has such an olive smell that I refused to eat it. :woohoo:

I also went to France and got a strawberry tart that cost $3.95. It was so amazing with the extremely fresh strawberries and delicious cream. It was so good that my group bought two.

At a booth in France I got creme brulee lay that cost $3.75 which tasted like melted icecream and was not worth the money.

Lotus Blossom Café

Shrimp fried rice with Eggroll(pork) $7.99 ( without tax)

Iphonepics024.jpg

This dish was very filling. I must say from normally being at theme parks and ordering food they over price thier meals way to high but for this resturant the pricing seemed very reasonable. ( considering its a theme park) I enjoyed the shrimp fried rice it had lots of shrimp and vegatables ( peas, carrots) in it everything was cooked perfectly. They meal was quite large after eating this meal i couldn't eat for awhile. The only thing that was disapointing was the egg roll they only had pork egg rolls and i don't like pork so i gave it to a friends who enjoyed it. I would recommend this restuant they are very quick and you get a large serving.

These reviews are great. I'm really enjoying reading everyone's viewpoints. :goodvibes

The Quiche au Fromage in France booth was amazing. For $3.50 the price wasn't bad. The quiche was mostly cheese and onions with a flaky crust around it. I really enjoyed it and i bet if your really into cheese you'll love it too.

While at Epcot, I went to the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco to eat lunch. I ordered a chicken wrap which came with a side of tangerine couscous and lentil salad. The chicken wrap was decent. I am a very picky and particular eater, so i thought the chicken looked a little questionable. The bread it was served on however was quite tasteful. Also, the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and the white sauce on top had a strong flavor. I did not care for the tangerine couscous. I found it very bland and unappetizing. The lentil salad was okay, but had a large amount of olive oil. I paid a total of $10.60, which i found a little too much for the quality of this meal.

For dessert, I went to the Boulangerie Patisserie in France. I ordered a strawberry tart and let me say it was the single most delicious piece of food i have ever eaten. The strawberries were fresh, the cream in the middle was very rich in flavor and the tart part was indescribable. It was so good I went back and bought another one. I paid a total of $4.21 for it and would highly recommend it.

A-MAN-DUH!!!

Nine Dragons Restaurant (China)

The name of the food that I will be reviewing is the Honey Sesame Chicken.
This dish came with the chicken, some rice, and a bowl of carrots and some
other type of vegetables. The cost of just the entree was $16.98 and
with two cokes, a strawberry smoothie, and the tip, it came out to $30.80.
I thought this meal was very good, It was a small portion, and shouldn't
have been $16.98, but it was delicious and I would highly recommend it.
