Sometime before Monday morning, my multicultural literature class will be posting their reviews here from our field trip to Epcot's World Showcase. We will be eating around the world on Friday 11/10. They must eat something outside of their own cultural backgrounds, and they must review at least one meal on this board. Many of them will be sampling food from the Food and Wine Festival or from counter service in World Showcase. They are to include pictures if they can. They are juniors and seniors in high school, and we hope you enjoy their reviews. This is a great way for them to have an audience other than their teacher! Thanks for reading!

Mrs. Jackson

My daughter is a teacher in NJ and I know if they had a WDW here she would love to challange her students like that. What a great idea. I can't wait to read the reviews.
Fred :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the reviews!

Fantastic opportunity for the teens -- can't wait to read their reviews. We were sampling around World Showcase a couple of weeks ago. Lot's of yummy foods to taste!

Excellent :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read all about them :goodvibes

a. Yakitori House in Japan / Beaches n' Cream at the Beach Club Resort

b. Sushi Tokyo Roll - Rice and seaweed rolled around crab meat, cucumber, fish eggs, and avocado; soy sauce / Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

c. $7.45 (tax included)

d. I enjoyed the tokyo roll. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, but it was certainly not the worst. There were 8 pieces of sushi, so it wasn't a bad deal for about $7. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to try sushi for their first time because the ingredients are pretty basic. The sushi came in a small dish along with chopsticks and packets of soy sauce (which was poured lightly over the sushi). --- For dessert I had green mint chocolate chip ice cream (my favorite flavor) from Beaches n' Cream. It tasted like every other green mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was about $3 for a single scoop, decent for the amount of ice cream given.

Curry chicken in a curry paste....better than moms....oh! and DEEP FRIED OREOS SMUTHERED IN CHOCOLATE SAUCE...!!

So overall the food was excellent, Beanie's dad made it. I tihnk the smell of the food cooking was better than the taste of it, but iam not saying the taste was bad.Eventhough the rice and chicken had many seasonings, peppers, and herbs it was not very spicy for people to handle.

The oreos were a first for me and not for Beanies. They were not what I expected from deep fried oreos, the middle was soft and tasted like a combination I would have never tasted or even thought of before.

Kareem & Beanie :cool1:

OK, where were the deep fried oreos and how did I miss them last month? :teeth:

Great reviews so far - can't wait to read the rest. :goodvibes

I ate in 3 different countries on the field trip: France, Japan, and Mexico.

In France i tasted a sugared crepe. It was very good, not too sweet. It was $4.00. It was actually pretty big and i did not finish the whole thing.

In Japan, I split the Teriyaki chicken and steamed rice with Liz. It was good at first, but the chicken had lots of fat in it, which i dislike. The whole dish was $5.99. It was at a counter service restaurant called the Yakitori House.

I also ate in Mexico. I got the Chilaquiles, which is chicken, cheese, and tortilla layered together with sour cream and a Jalapeño sauce. It was pretty good, but i could only eat a few bites and then got sick of it. The portion was pretty large and it was $3.50.

Lastly, we went to Beaches and Creme where Jocelyn and I split the No Way Jose. This was the best of all the food we ate. It was vanilla and chocolate ice cream with fudge and peanut butter. It was $7.99, but the portion was huge and could have fed more than 2 people.

Overall, the food was good, but I was unpleasantly full! I would have pictures of all the different foods, but i didn't get Liz's email with all the pictures in it :(

The food was great. I ate at The Japenese Restaurant where the cook prepares the food in front of you. It was really good but to tell you the truth Kobe's is better. Sorry but it's true. The total here for me only was about 25 dollars.
Then beaches n' cream was good too. The cake was ok it was a little too rich for me. The total here for me was about 8 dollars. Later on before I left I ate a funnel cake which was awesome, that's my favorite snack.
Had fun thanks Mrs. Jackson,
Summer Michelle
oh and i wish i knew that deep fried oreos were there!!!!

HEYY everyone:)
First of all, i have to say this has been one of the best field trips i've ever been on!! I actually ended up trying many different types of foods from countries all over the world. The three that i will review are in France, Japan and Mexico.
In Japan, i got the spicy sushi roll which was absolutely amazing. That costed me $3.00, and it was definitely worth it!!! The sushi roll has cream cheese, tuna and something else, but i dont recall, but it was amazing.
Next I went to Mexico and got the Chilaquiles, which came with chicken, cheese, and tortilla layered together with sour cream on top and a Jalapeño sauce. I thought it was very good, the portion size was a little big, but overal the Chilaquiles was very yummy. The cost of this was $3.50.
After stopping at Mexico, i went and tried the Crepe in France. I got the Chocolate crepe which was so amazingly good. It was a plain crepe with chocolate syrup melted on the inside and also covered on the outside. The crepe was a little plain for my taste, but definitely still amazing. The price of the Crepe was $4.00.
Lastly, we made a stop in the restaurant called Beaches and Cream, where we heard there was an amazing dessert called No Way Jose. This huge dessert was the best part of the whole trip. I split this bowl full of peanut butter, chocolate ice cream, whip cream, chocolate syrup and who knows what else with Kim. IT WAS THE BEST DESSERT I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!
i recommend trying it!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole dessert was$8.00
Overall i had a fantastic day filled with delicious food and cant wait to go back!

ok so the feild trip to epcot was AMAZING!!!! :thumbsup2
i think i probally gained about 10 pounds..u'll be able to see that in the pictures. haha but it was worth it!!!!!

i ate in Mexico, Japan and Germany.

in mexico i got Chilaquiles Baked Tortillas and it was layers of Chicken and Cheese. i spent $3.50 on it and it wasn't worth the money. haha it was ok, but towards the end of it, it got kinda grose..i dunno..kimmi and jocelyn agreed with me on that, and megan was being a chicken and wouldn't even eat it. :)

we also ate in Japan. which was the BEST!!!!! at first when we showed up at the little booth they didn't have teryaki chicken and i thought i was gunna have a heartattack. so my goal after that was to walk around until i found it!!
so thankfully me and kimmi came upon a counterservice. we split chicken teryaki and rice and it was $7.99. i loveddd it!!!! i can't even describe how amazing the taste was. haha

i also ate in Germany. I had spicy sausage and potatos. it was very good but VERY spicy. i spent $3.00 on it, and it was definently worth it.

last but not least, we all went to Beaches and Cream and of course we got the No Way Jose. i spilt half of it on me, but it was amazing.
and megan being the pig that she is, me and her finish ours, and the she turns to kimmi and jocelyn and goes.."i have a question. you dont have to say yes, but it's just a question...can i finish that??" haha im pretty sure it was the funniest moment in that whole day. i love her though :)

this feild trip was pretty much probally one of the best ones i've been on throughout high school. i love this classsss!!!!!

LOVE YOU!!!

I enjoyed sushi in Japan at the Yakatori House. The meal consisted of six pieces of sushi that costed about $7.50. It was the traditional california rolls, rice wraped around avacado, fish eggs, sea weed, and crab. The sushi was enjoyable and filling. Also I thought the price was suitable. I recommend this to others as a good inexpensive way to enjoy sushi.

I also ate Meze from the Turkey booth. It was circassian chicken, red lentil kofte, eggplant salad. Although this was a little out of my comfort zone it was decent. I personally did not especially enjoy it. Although it only costed $2.50, i would not recommend anyone trying this unless they are feeling really adventerous.

a. Greece, France, Morocco
b. Greek salad with Flatbread, Escargots Provencal (Provence-style Snails with Garlic Butter),Kefta (Grilled Beef and Hummus in a Pita pocket)
c. Greek Salad - $2, Escagot- $4, Kefta- $3.75
d. The Greek Salad was very good, it had numerous ingrediants in it, and was a great deal for only $2. Although I have had better, the escargot was decent for being mass produced in a theme park. One complaint was that the bread was very hard and crunchy. The Kefta was by far the best item that I ate at the festival. The meat had wonderful flavor, and the sauce was delicious.

a. i visited three different countries while i was at Epcot. Greece, Morocco, & Italy.

b.
- at the Greek booth i had a greek salad. the salad contained lettuce, tomoatoes, onions, greek olives & feta cheese topped with a dressing of oil & vinegar. the salad also came with a slice of flatbread. i also had Baklava which is a greek pastry with walnuts & honey. :lovestruc
- at the Morocco booth i had Kefta which is grilled beef & hummus in a pita pocket.
- last but not least i ate at Italy. I had Pizza Alla Salsiccia otherwise known as Sicilian Pizza with Sausage.

c. greek salad = $2
baklava = $1.50
kefta = $3.75
Pizza alla Salsiccia = $3

d. the greek salad tasted good. i am greek so im used to this type of salad. but i have to say that i have had better but it's not so bad. the baklava was delicious, perfect if you have a sweet tooth. kefta - this was suprisingly good. i didn't expect it to be so tasty & was suprised myself when i decided to be adventurous enough to try something new. it basically tasted to me like a hamburger with lettuce & tomatoes. and the pizza was amazing. one of the best slices ive ever had.

last but not least we all met up at Beaches N' Cream. it's by the Beach & Yacht Resort. it's a little hidden ice cream place. it was amazing. i had a old fashioned sundae with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, peanuts, whip cream, & of course a cherry. well worth the $6.99 plus tax.

all in all i spent approximately $18 & i was stuffed all day. it was an awesome & unforgettable feild trip. thank you ms. jackson for setting it up.

we'll never forget the bus driver or the ride home =D
