I had an MRI done on Tuesday morning. Yesterday, the Dr calls me to tell me the radiologist saw several hazy areas in diff locations on my brain. I am now scheduled to have a second MRI using a dye the day before Thanksgiving. I asked Dr what he thought it might be, and he said maybe the poss of an infarction.
Then he tells me not to worry that it is probably nothing, that the radiologist is probably just being extra cautious. Has anyone had this test run? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Trying not to worry, but you know how the imagination likes to take off in a situation like this! Prayers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Dee

I think in football you get a 15 yard penalty for that

No thoughts on any of that, Dee, but letting you know you are in my prayers, good wishes. Please update when you can, do hope all goes well.

I have some thoughts but what were your symptoms that you ended up needing an MRI?

Yes.. what were the reasons he did an MRI? Are you symptomatic?

Infarct is the term used to describe tissue that has been deprived of oxygen due to the arterial blood supply being blocked or stopped.

A heart attack is called a myocardial infarction...it means the tissue is damaged. In the brain it means the same thing...it can be the result of strokes, or times where blood/oxygen just wasn't getting there effectively, like seizures, TIAs, bleeding into the brain, etc.

I don't want to frighten you...often times people have areas of infarction with no deficits at all. Keep us posted, and we'll be praying for you!

Hi Guys! Sorry it took me a while to post, but today has been very hectic. DS is in football playoffs, and you can just imagine the hustle and bustle.

My symptoms have been kind of building up over a time span of approx a year. Symptoms come and go, and don't necessarily happen all together. I have had problems with pitting edema in both legs, diagnosed with high blood pressure in the past year.
Have problems with numbness in both feet and hands, with tingling/burning sensation in finger and toes. Did not realize until Neurologist visit that I have some numbness in the left side of my neck and cheek area. I have also periodically been experiencing some vertigo/dizziness. Lost vision (everything went white), but could hear perfectly for just a couple of minutes. I also loose my balance towards my left side at times. Everything put together I sound pretty pitiful, but really do not feel BAD. Until my husband started listing all my ailments, and made me a Dr's appointment, I did not realise I was having all these problems. Neurologist told me I had too many things going on to diagnose without MRI.

I am pretty laid back, and just trying to get information about proceedure, and possiblities. I am not going to panic until I
find out there is something to panic about. I appreciate all the prayers, good thoughts, and info.

Thanks Again,

Dee
