I've been hearing alot about Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and that it was a ride at Magic Kingdom that got removed a few years back but that's about all i know. What type of ride was it? What took it's place? Why'd they take it out? Was it popular?.....

It's gone, gone gone... DS was so upset, he almost didn't want to go back to MK. You rode in a car , nothing fancy, fun and great for the pre-school set and some bigger kids too.

It was replaced by Pooh. It was popular but an old story, Disney needed to do a more current ride. ::smooth:

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was a dark ride that was replaced by Winnie the Pooh. It was pretty cool, for that type of ride. I'm not sure how you define popular, but it seems to me that everyone remembers it fondly and misses it. I believe there was a protest when it was taken out. I like Pooh, but I do miss Mr. Toad.

Mr. Toads is one of my favorite rides, it's still running at Disneyland, I was glad my wife got to ride it a couple years ago after I talked about how it was gone from MK.

Toads Wild Ride was from The Wind in The Willows which is a wonderful book that is not read much anymore. In the book Toad gets a car and is a dreadful driver who keeps having accidents until he is put in jail. The ride was a drive in Toads car.

I'll be at DL the end of September. I can't wait to ride Mr. Toad's Wild Ride again! I like Pooh, but Mr. Toad was/is great too. I don't think the Wind in the Willows is as popular with kids anymore.

Mr. Toad is the Man!...errr..Toad. This was my favorite dark ride when I was a kid. I'm glad the DL version is till around. My fave Disney dark ride is Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin (at DL for those that don't know) but I always make sure I ride Toad a couple of times while I am there :D

This ride sounds good ~ I'm sorry I missed it!!!!!

You rode in Mr. Toads car on a wild ride through town where you almost run over many people and things. You knock things over, travel through town square, a bar and then get arrested and sentanced and make an escape where you drive head on into a train and end up in hell!!! It was fun. The ride had two seperate tracks with each track having a bit different scenery and some the same. Disneyland in California still has Mr. Toad though it is a smaller shorter ride the Hell section is realized better.

I definetly agree Pooh is terrable compared to Mr. Toad, I really miss that ride. I have never been to Disneyland yet, but I am dying to go now since I want ride Toad again. It was my favorite ride in all the parks till they took it out!
