Cozumel Excursions: Have been trying to decide what to do in Cozumel. I've read a little on a place called Mr. Sanchos, but it looks like a party/bar atmosphere (according to their website). Being a conservative mother, I am looking for something more family oriented. I've read a little on Chankanaab. Is this a nice place?

Everyone has recommended Playa del Sol in Cozumel to me. I have little ones but they say it is great for kids with lots to do, low entry fee and $10 taxi ride from ship.

Have fun!

Anything but Mr. Sancho's if you do not want a party atmosphere. As another conservative mom I went to Mr. Sanchos this summer against my better judgement and was seated right in front of the bar. I was told we couldn't switch tables as this was the waiters area. The music kept getting louder and louder. We were told as long as we were ordering something to drink we were OK (which we did). We brought sandwiches as we were a little leary about ordering food. Boy, the minute we took them out they told us we had 30 min. to be out of there. We just left and went back to the ship. Would never go back there again. If we hadn't been spending any money it would have made sense but we were ordering, just not food. Sorry this is so long.

Chanakaab is very nice, and would have a family atmosphere. Not much of a real beach there, but it is easy to get to and from the cruise ship. It cost 10 us dollars per person, and i think kids ten and under are free. I usually go by myself as my guys are not as hooked on snorkeling as I am, and feel very safe there.
