I want to get my son one of these when we go. My husband and I got one a while back. What are the prices now and are there any other characters? What are some of the pieces?

I believe it was 17.95 or around there, we got one made for dd2 this past X-mas, and she loves it.. You pick a body and all the legs eyes, ears, and then the other things like hats and earings and glasses and they have cute Diseny themes things like a hand holding a disney ballon, Disney hats and so on... I think its great.
I was able to get our Box it the Gift store at the POP... Have fun.......They also have a My Little Pony one as well at Downtown Disney, at the Toy Store, But that is geared for little girls but a great gift.......Have Fun Making your Mr. Potato head..... :wizard:

Can you buy all accessories without buying the actual "mr. potato head"?
Just curious if you could fill your box with the smaller pieces only.

Yes, we just filled our box with pieces and used our potato bodies from garage sales to fill them in!

Yes, at least that was the case when we were there in January. I filled a box with all different kinds of pieces while DD was asleep. I didn't give it to her until we had been home a couple of days. She loved it!!

If you pack it right you can really get a lot of pieces in the box!!

Yes, you can buy just the pieces you want without the actual head. We already had heads so we just bought the pieces that we wanted. We bought two boxes and still didn't get all the accessories. We did get two of some of the ones that we wanted. I can't wait to go again in December because I'll be buying more of them as a Christmas gift to myself!! My girls like them but not as much as I do. We have one sitting on the top of our kitchen cabinet. Every once in a while my husband or I will change it as a surprise to the other. It is neat to see him dressed differently out of the blue.

ETA: Somewhere I read a teacher got nothing but the little Disney teddy bear in her box. She gave them to her students as gifts of her trip. The little Disney teddy bear has the Mickey head (three circles) on his paws and doesn't have the stick for Mr. Potato Head to hold him. He sits on the table beside Mr. Potato Head.

I've bought 4 boxes over the years!

It all started innocently enough-- I never had a Mr. Potato head growing up, so I was so excited when I saw all those parts at Once Upon a Toy in DTD and had to get one.

The first box was just parts. The CM told me she just sold a box and the person was able to stuff over 50 pieces in the box! I took that as a challenge and the CM was in on the fun. I got dups of lots of small pieces, like arms and stuff, but that was good since the Disney ones are special. The CM gave me little hints on how to stuff in the most parts, like putting the "ticket" in the suitcase and folding the mickey gloves up. I think I fit in close to 60 pieces-- the box barely closed!

I have bought a head from Disney-- make sure to stuff pieces IN the head if you get one. A lot of times, I've seen people just make a Potatohead and put it in the box without getting extra pieces.

Since they've come out with extra pieces, I've bought more boxes of parts. Each time, I'd get duplicates of ones I already had to give to people when I return.

The Statue of Liberty crown andd Mickey-head pretzel are available in DTD, but not in other stations I've seen in WDW... so they're not exclusive to the NYC store, but also not widely available in WDW.

My DD 2 does play with the Potato head, and I've had to get a huge plastic bin to hold them all. I love it more than my daughter though. :)

You can also get special packs of different pieces that I've never seen in stores. I bought a pirate set and they have a holiday set.

Other things available as seperate pieces-- Poncho and Dumbo ride car.

So cute!

Just writing about it makes me want to get another box of parts when I return!

It was $18 when we got our box. We found the bodies at BJ's and were able to get 2 big and 2 small for $12. Our kids have a great time playing with it.

If you already have a body at home, make sure you buy the arms. One with the thumb up and one with the hole to hold the various accessories.

When we were there last week, I crammed a bunch of stuff into a box and went to the check out to ask how to close the box(yes, I'm flap locking illiterate) and the cashier- Cathy :thumbsup2 emptied it out and restacked it in the box for me giving me a ton of extra room to buy more stuff. She was awesome and had a great sense of humor :thumbsup2
I do regret not getting 2 boxes though as this was my first time for me. My kids bought me a Mr. Potato Head for Mother's Day because they knew I wanted to "pimp" him out :goodvibes

I know they have the Potatohead parts at Everything Pop.. but does it have all the parts that Once Upon a Toy store has? Or do they have different parts?

Our family of 5 just came home with 6 boxes of 'stuff!' We had so much fun stuffing the box as full as possible. I actually got a compliment from the CM saying how packed it was. I got the Buzz Lightyear base which took up part of one of my boxes, but was still able to get so much. Ended up buying the Spud Trooper separately. My son wanted Darth Tater but was told they've discontinued them. We were also told they were coming out with an Artoo-Potatoo. So I went home, checked mrpotatohead.com and found Darth & Artoo! Ordered them and I'm another Christmas present down.

The once upon a toy store has the most parts.
