Mr. Potato Head Recommendations Please

Do all the pieces fit any size potato head? Those of who bought the potato at Walmart, was it the regular, full size?

I can't wait to do this. We plan to do the Mr. Potato head one and the My Little Pony one. :)

What's the my little pony one????

Bought Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head today at Wal mart! Had told DH to do it and thought he'd forget, but he didn't, so now we have THREE!

Whee! Can't wait!

I bought this for myself 2 years ago (my 5 yo DS thinks it's for him!!!) Each year I have bought a new box with more parts. I love the feet with the sandals that say Disney on them, Buzz lightyear's ride, Goofy's hat, Mickey ice cream. The 1st year we bought a seperate kit that has pirate hat, peg leg hook and parrot. Defintely buy the head at Walmart. It's much cheaper and you get alot more in the box. Don't forget the arms!!! They are only made for Disney. We will be ther in 6 days for me to buy my new pieces. Yea!!! :cool1: :cool1:

OH GEEZ!!!! Now I will have to get one for my cube at work!!! My two little ones are VERY excited about Mr. Potato Head, NOW I AM, TOO!!! First stop . . . Walmart!!! :goodvibes

We got the regular size potato head and all the parts we got fit, some of the hats are small and would probably fit the smaller version better, they fit the large one however. The only problem we had was with two of the arms, they won't stay in, maybe they were for the smaller potato head.

Hope this helps and have fun!

We bought ours at AK (in Dinoland gift shop), I'm guessing they don't have as many pieces as DTD does. We did the same thing, stuffed the box full of parts and got the potato at home. The only thing I'd caution- for some reason, the arms we bought at Disney don't fit well in our non-Disney potato. The part where they are inserted into the body is narrower than the ones that came with the acutal body. Don't know if it's just ours or what?

AHAHAHA, you sound just like me! I'm definitely going to get one the next time I'm in Walt Disney World, they're just too cute!

I really want to do this too! Has anybody else had problems with a non-Disney potato not working with the Disney potato?!

I have 2 non-Disney potatoes and the Disney arms works just fine. Actually all the parts work just fine. There aren't any loose arms or noses, or shoes.

I don't by the potatoes at Disney because then I wouldn't be able to stuff more of the parts. The Buzz ride base alone takes up 1/3 of the box space.

Hi everyone! Last year from the store at Pirates of the Caribbean we bought a whole box of just pirate pieces for our family potato. It has the pegleg/boot, earring, hook, eyepatch, hat bird, and sword.

Love that potato pirate! pirate:

It's weird, all the hats, feet, noses, etc work great, but for some reason, the arms seem too small for the body. I noticed on the parts that came with our potato head from Target, the arms have little ridges near the top of the part that connects to the body while the Disney ones don't. :confused3

Did you all just feel that I wasn't spending enough money or what? Thanks! Not only am I going to have to get us one, but my dad will have to have one as well, which will mean I have to get one for my mom... Real nice guys, real nice! :sad2:

:rotfl: My husbands going to love it... "Hey honey, I need more money!"

How much will it cost for just the Potato Head?

I need to buy 4 Heads, but I don't want to buy 4 boxes of parts. I'm thinking I can get the 4 Heads from PC, then buy the parts (maybe 2 boxes) from the toy store.

We did this a couple of weeks ago in DTD. Before we left home I bought our DS a Mr. Potato Head $5 at Walmart and our DS a Mrs. Potato Head, also $5. At Once Upon a Toy (I think that is the right name of the store) It has a giant Mr. Potato Head out front and has lots of toys from yesteryear inside, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, etc. You can fill a box with as many parts as you can get inside for $18. Had read on this board to fit smaller hats and parts inside bigger ones. This is what we got - Mickey Safari hat, Minnie Safari Hat, Top Hat, Wedding Veil Hat, Sorcerer Hat, Goofy ears Hat, Princess Minnie Hat, Mickey Ears Hat, Minnies Bow Hat, Flower to add to Minnie Safari Hat, 4 arms (2 left, 2 right), 2 Mickey ice cream bars, 2 Mickey autograph books, 2 Mickey balloons, mustache, 2 sets of eyes, some glasses, Buzz light year laser gun, I know I am forgetting a few things.....but we got lots of parts to dress up two potato heads many different ways. The box is kind of like a Happy Meal box not quiet as wide but a little taller, as long as it closes you get everything inside for $18. Put small stuff inside bigger things, we didn't get any extra feet although they did have some cute ones, they just took up lots of room and the kids were more into all the different hats etc.
I just got my shipped box from Once Upon a Toy (YAY!) and here are some parts that I got after Easter that were not on this list (and sorry if this is duplicated elsewhere!):
Minnie's Bow
Mickey ears balloon
Mickey clock
Mr. Potato Head guest of honor badges
suitcase (doesn't open)
Mickey ears video camera
autograph books
princess star wands
Mickey Mouse Hands (to fit over hands on arms)
glass slipper feet (Mrs. PH)
crown
green baseball hat
Mad Hatter hat
WDW/DL tickets
WDW sandals on feet w/ toes

Other things they had (and some that I wish I would've splurged on a second box for!):
Mickey ears Santa hat
Christmas tree hat
Buzz Lightyear spaceship (would fill 1/2 a box!)
tuxedo shirt front
(Pink?) bunny slippers
red high top sneakers
guitar

There were other things, but I can't remember!

They also had yellow rain ponchos and a an individual Dumbo (Dumbo ride) for sale for $5.00 each. They did not have Darth Tater (boo-hoo), but did have extra packs of parts for cowboy, pirate.

Hopes this helps
