Hope this question is not a "spud" but I was thinking about getting my "small fry" the Mr. Potato Head from Once Upon a Toy. I saw someone suggesting fillin the body with parts so you can get more in your box, but can you just buy a box full of parts?. Someone else suggested just buying Mr. Potato himself at home, where he is surely cheaper, and then getting more body parts/accessories in your box at DTD!? Can ya do this!? :earsboy:

Yes- You can get the box full of only parts. Carefully put them in as to get the most for your $18. You must get the arms from DTD as they only work with the accessories from Once Upon a Toy.

I brought 3 heads from home and each girl got a box of "parts' kept them very busy and quiet.

You can get a head at Target for $6 or watch at Garage sales.

They also have a My Little POny Box you can stuff w/ ponies and accessories.

What kinds of accessories do they have that are unique to Disney World?

christmas tree with mickey head ornaments

that's the ones I can remember. There's many more. Pretty much most of the items are Disney related.

There's also a pirate accessories set ($10), a cowboy accessories set, holiday sets (easter, christmas etc)

On our last trip we bought only parts-I bought the potato at home and brought it along. It's amazing how much you can get in that box. I concentrated on the "Disney" items-so many of them are quite small-and didn't get as many regular parts. Oops, I should have bought more ears, mouths, and noses. Oh well, maybe next time.

My Little Pony-where and how much.

58 days and counting

My little pony is the same price $18 at the same store Once Upon a Toy Store in DTD. Just a tip for anyone getting Mr. Potato head. There is an ice cream bar shaped like mickey in the mr. potato head section but in the my little pony section there is a pink one. I think it is okay to mix the two if you want as we put a pink ice cream bar from the mlp section in our mph box.

Are the Pony parts for the regular size ponies? We already have several My Little Pony ponies. Would love to just bring pony and pot head from home and fill up with acc.

We had so much fun stuffing the first box that we ended up getting another one. My kids (5 & 2) love playing with the Disney pieces. The CMs at Once Upon a Toy were very helpful with us cramming as many pieces as possible into the box. We also got a box of Potato Head pieces at the big store (w/ the character greeting lines) in Mickey's Toontown. They also have potato parts at MGM, AK and (I've heard) Pop Century gift shop. Once Upon a Toy has the biggest selection, but we got a couple parts at the Toontown store that they didn't have. The Potato Head parts were by far my favorite souvenir and are one of few things we brought home that the kids still play with.

I think I'll have more fun with this than my kids lol!

can you call and order a box of parts from the store directly???

Whoa - Mr. Potato Head parts at Once Upon a Toy? Is that at DTD? Could someone start at the beginning and explain this to me with small words?

my Mother n law got my daughter 3 boxes full plus different places let her by individual pieces for 2.00 a piece. That was great! My daughter loves making the potato heads and has extra to let others make one too when friends come over!

yes it is in DTD however some places in resorts and parks have them too. you fill a box for 18 with parts and a spud or just parts. they are all pieces that you can't just buy at target (except for the spud of course!) my husband and i looove these things we got hooked right when we saw them!! now our DD likes to play and they are a hit for my cousins when i baby sit them too! (we have a giant bin full of parts and spuds!!) hope this helps

We just got a box full last week. We stuffed earrings and smaller parts in the hollow area under feet. Any little cubby hole we found we stuffed more parts and we gently shook the head already full of parts to settle them in and make room for more. I was suprised by how much we got in the box.

I bought our first potato at Mouse Gear in Epcot and our DD3 loved it so much, she wanted more parts! I ended up buying another "head", too as the CM double-checked that I had included one in my box - she told me that "body parts only" wasn't allowed. :confused3

On the plus side, it allows DD's friends and cousins to play along, too and nobody feels left out! :teeth:

We're leaving the My Little Pony box for next time - a CM told me that you can fit a lot more into their boxes as there are more smaller parts!

That sounds so cool! My boys really liked a MP they saw at someone elses house.

Do all the locations have the same parts? I'm not sure we're going to DTD but will definitely be in all 4 parks.

So who's the pot head and why are you filling them with acc??? :rotfl2: I thought Disney was for families. :smooth:

He was about $5. Good grief, if I keep buying stuff to haul to Florida they're not going to let me on the plane lol. But I'm pretty excited about all these special parts. Dh just thinks I'm a nut. :earboy2:

Can you just fill a box with parts?? I have read a few times when the CM will not let you get parts w/o a PH.
