Just wondering if anyone knows the price of the Mr. Potato Head sutff. I head you buy it in a box that you stuff yourself, but what is the exact cost of the box? I've read before that you want to buy your actual potato head guy at home before, as to not have to take up space in the box for his body, so I'm planning that, but I still haven't seen a cost anywhere.

Also you buy these inside California Adventure... is that right? Anyone know more specifically which shop has them? :) Thanks in advance!

I believe it is $18.00 for the box of parts. The store (I can't recall the name) is after you enter Calif. adventure on the right hand side.

18.00... yikes! (Well, I mean - I'm not surprised... lol!)

So for 18.00 how many potato parts can you fit in (approximately) like a lot of just a few?

You can buy Mr. Potato Head stuff at EnginEars Toys, on the right in DCA as you head in toward the plaza from the main gate. You can fit a ton of pieces in the box, though not a lot of the big stuff like Buzz Lightyear's ship or Ariel's tail fin. My kids have gotten really good at squeezing a lot of extras like the Mickey bars and lanyards in the small spaces of the box and it just barely has to close - the CM's are always very nice about our bulging boxes! They will also help you repack to get more stuff in. :love: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

It is $18, and it is at Engine Ears Toys just to the right as you enter CA. The box is a bit bigger than a potato, so if you have no potato in it, you can really fill it up! We bought two boxes, and wound up with:

Mad Hatter hat, Goofy head, 'Goofy' souvenir hat, 2 Donald sailor hats, Mickey sorcerer hat, Minnie hairbow, bowler hat, Mickey top hat, princess crown, Donald head, Duck bill, black hairpiece;

2 pair pirate eyes, 3 pair turquoise eyes, 1 pair turquoise/black eyes, 1 pair plain black eyes, 1 pair purple eyes, 1 pair purple/black eyes;

5 left arms, 5 right arms, 4 ears, 4 green hoop earrings, Ursula mouth, red tongue, big red nose, oval red nose, pointy yellow nose, black mustache, white shirtbuttons & bowtie, 2 pair red Mickey eyeglasses;

Movie camera, yellow star wand, red Mickey balloon, souvenir drink cup, park ticket, autograph book & pen, Mickey clock, Mickey icecream bar, suitcase, "Potato Head" badge.

After we bought the boxes, DH confessed me he could have fit in a few more arms and eyes, but we already had them all, "so why?" Aaaarrggh! Would have been good to have a few doubles of the handheld items, because the boys tend to want the same one...

I thought we had a pretty good haul!

Here is what I was able to get in 1 box, without a potato. I probably could have put in a couple more small peices, but they would have been duplicates:

I tried to limit myself to just one box when we went this summer. I wound up with 2 boxes. I could have easily done 3, as there are a ton of different parts. As it was, I was also getting 3 boxes for ds' speech therapist, so how crazy do you think I looked, walking up to the register with FIVE bulging Mr. Potato Head boxes?

We still need Ariel parts, Buzz parts, and there are always new items, too.

And if don't need any of the super large pieces (like the Ariel hair and fins in the previous picture) you can get a TON. We have 3 boxes of Potato stuff. 2 from WDW and 1 from NYC. We have so many pieces that between them and the 2 Mr Potatos and their original pieces (just the cheapy set from Target) they won't fit in a regular sweater size tupperwear and we're needing to upgrade to a larger box since adding the NYC stuff.

Oh, and yes the box is $18, and you can buy individual pieces for $2 if you just have one large thing that you can't get in the box.

Oh, Good Tip Mateas mom! :)

Thanks for the photo hlbtimes2! :) That was awesome of you to post that! :)

OK, I think I'm going to let my son fill up one box and then if my daughter wants a box, she can get one too. (She's older and may rather spend her money on Tshirts or something like that, so we'll see!) But I just informed my husband that we may be spending 36.00 on potato head pieces... lol! :)

Thanks for all your help!

My husband came in while I was posting that pic. He said he couldnt believe that I took that picture (I took it during the trip at the candy cane inn), and he was even more suprised that I actually had a need for the photo. LOL!

My dh made fun of me for taking a picture of a Tigger Tail, too. they just don't understand

When we went last year, I bought ds's darth tater, dd mrs. potato head before we left and took them out of the boxes and put them in big ziplock bags. Then I got a whole box of stuff, but the issue that I had is that there wasn't a "full set" of any character there except Mickey. My kids then enjoyed playing with them when we were at the condo for Thanksgiving week with the family.
I'll be doing the same thing this year....we'll see if we can find all the old pieces. Then I think we'll leave the whole set at Nana and Papa's house, since they've moved down to San Diego.
I think you can also get pieces in downtown disney at WoD.

Now that I have a digital camera and laptop, my DH will be rolling his eyes about some of the pic's I'm gonna take next trip, too! Guess I should ask santa for a memory card! ;)

Hope this is not off topic!

At Costco last week I found the "Star Wars Tater Trio Set" for $16.49. It says it has "over 30 parts!" and it looks like there is three potato heads and parts to make a stormtrooper, darth vader and R2D2. (Specifically: 3 potato bodies, 2 helmets, 2 face plates, 1 front panel, 1 top dome with eyes, 2 sets of eyes, 2 ears, 1 nose, 1 set of teeth, 1 tongue, 1 silly face, 3 arms, 1 arm with lightsaber, 1 robot arm, 1 later masher, 1 cape, 2 legs, 1 base, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 Princess Tater hologram.)
The set comes in this giant (18 inches tall, maybe) see-thru darth vader potato figure. It seemed like a pretty good deal to me.

I bought that Star Wars set for my kids last weekend. It really is a good deal. I figured it was a fun way to start their Potato head set before we fill up with parts at DL! :thumbsup2

I know a little 4 year old boy that will be getting the Costco/ Star Wars set for Christmas.
