Is this just at DIsneyLand or do they offer it at DW as well? Basically you can bring your potato head from home(or buy theirs) and for an extra flat rate you can fill the head with as many parts as will fit.

Anybody know if this offer is available at DW?

Yes, it's available at Once Upon A Toy Store in Downtown Disney and at Pop Century Resort.

If you just fill the box without the head you can get more pieces.

I have done a box at both DL and WDW. I asked at the store in DTD if they had the Tinkerbell wand from the year before as I somehow missed getting it when I grabbed the rest of the pieces. The CM went into the back and came back a few minutes later with one.

At the back of the store they also have the My Little Pony ones. I also did that for my niece's friend. I was able to get all of the pieces plus some extra clothes.

So it's not the head I fill but the box? Does that mean it makes more sense to buy it there than to lug a box in my luggage?

Obviously I want to get the best bang for my $$$$

Thanks to both for replying and that link~I see the WDW references now ;)

They have boxes that you can fill with whatever pieces you want. If you already have Mr. Potato heads at home, you will have more room in the box to get more pieces. No need to bring anything with you. We picked out all the pieces we "had to have" and then the "maybe if they fit". We sat down on the floor and DH fit all the pieces neatly into the box. We were able to fit almost everything. I think the box was around $20.

It was well worth the price. My kids play with them daily. We plan to get more pieces on our next trip.

They also have large Mr. Potato Head-shaped plastic buckets for $50.

Thx -- I had heard about this before but wasn't sure about it. We just gave the kids a Mr. Potato Head for the holidays and 2 of the 3 are having lots of fun with it -- we're going to stock up on "standard stuff" at Walmart and then look to get the more specialty stuff at WDW.

The fill-a-box is also available in Magic Kingdom. It's in the tent (can't remember the name) in the back of the park where you can meet the princesses.

I believe it is called Country Fair and it is near Mickey's House / across from the Barnstormer in Toon Town.
