MR October 28, 2012 "Halloween Time"

We're dressing up as are our friends traveling with us - they have a great adult costume party in the atrium and everyone watches from above.

Halloween on board is so much fun.

You get to the gym through the Buena Vista Spa - go down the hall and turn right.

We're driving down from the Valley that day with a stop at coffee bean on the way.

We live close enough to the port that we sometimes go on Sundays to watch the Disney ships leave.

I'm dressing up, but doing a costume themed with my kids. I would look silly wearing it without them!

:surfweb: Not new, just dont log in very often, but I am traveling with my hubby and two boys, we are already on the FE list, and we also have another family that is traveling with us, she too is already on the list. Now that its getting closer I am logging on more often.

OMG I am so sorry! My apologies! I saw the post count next to your name and assumed you were new DOH!!:headache:

That is cute!

I just realized today that the FE list is going to be closing soon! Have you guys started on your gifts yet? I am waiting till the final count. :thumbsup2

Here are some pictures form our mini trip over the holiday weekend. We went to aquarium of the pacific and California Adventure to check out CarsLand! :woohoo: I've also included a silly picture of Lorelai eating her snacks. She LOVES picking up and eating her cheese puffs and apple stars!

She's such a happy baby! How was carsland?? How were the crowds? I've seen some awesome pics of WDW practically empty. I know its hurricane season though lol

Carsland isn't at WDW, it is in California Adventure at DL in Cali. It was AMAZING. Since we went on the holiday it was super packed, so we didn't really ride anything. We took Lorelai on the Little Mermaid and Monsters Inc though. She LOVED them!

I know carsland is only in CA :) I was just wondering the crowd comparison of WDW to DL/CA.

lol, I read it wrong, sorry. I don't know, but knowing how hot it was in california, there's no way in hell I would have wanted to be in florida last weekend!!!!!

Lol! I've never been to WDW to experience that heat! When do you think is the best time to visit WDW?

Before we both lost our jobs in 2009, we used to go 3 or 4 times a year, so we've been during every season. It's really a personal preference because some people like heat and some like cold. We prefer cold. We went to WDW once in May and it was the WORST! Literally, we left the airport and my lungs seized up. The heat and humidity were too much! I had to use an inhaler and we stayed in the room for a while until I got used to it. AND....LITERALLY...it was so humid that our sheets stayed damp the entire trip! NO JOKE! We tried everything and the sheets just wouldn't dry! I would say not to go in May...or any other warm month.

When we have money now for WDW we always go in January. Make sure you don't book during the marathon because it's super busy. The second or third week is usually the time to go. It's the cheapest and least busy, not to mention that it is nice and cold!! I can't find the pictures, but I have pictures in the middle of Adventure land, on the Pirates ride, and underneath one of the gigantic Christmas trees with literally ZERO other people in the shot! I'm telling you, mid January is the time to go!

I have been away for awhile for good reason. I finished my FE. It was more than I could chew but I did it. I should have just bought one. Spent more money and time but I did it and it turned out OK!!!!

So here it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, congratulations! Secondly, I hate to say this but...I hope it's not too big. I don't know if you read all of the posts but I had mentioned at one point that Disney restricts the size of your FE...and yours looks REALLY long! (That's why when you search for pictures of them people will often have more than one child's name per pocket). I'm not trying to be negative, I just want you to be aware in case you get on the cruise and they ask you to take it down. I REALLY hope they don't, but I just wanted you to be aware. It looks great though :thumbsup2

I just re-looked at your photo. That looks like a tall door. I think it will drag on the floor on the ship, the doors are pretty short. May I ask how long it is? I can look up the dimensions if you'd like.

Oh yeah....late October early November for the food and wine festival at Epcot is also AMAZING. Weather is decent and the event is FANTASMIC! Warmer than January but still cool enough. The Halloween party is great too!

I know its less than 8" wide. I am not exactly sure how long it is but I think its about 48" long. When I looked at the requirements I didn't see anything about the length just the width. So if you have one please let me know. As for the picture its really deceiving. Its on a wall high up for me to get the shot.

Thanks
Donna

I went looking for the FE specifications and found this.

Specifications
The wall that the fish extender is hung on is roughly 8” wide. If you make your extender much wider, it will stick out into the hallway and/or hit your stateroom door.
The fish to hang your extender from is about 5’3” off the floor. When deciding upon a length for your extender, be sure you keep in mind that you will hang it from the fish, which will add overall length to your extender.

I think I am ok. if I am 48'' that is 4Ft exactly. Plus a string to hang it from. I think I am good. :yay:
