PLEASE LET ME PREFACE THIS POST, with a statement....this will be a jest filled review. Please do not take anything printed in here as a slam against anyone! NO food throwing or spit balls from anyone PLEASE! :duck: :duck: Thank YOU!

Kevin & I arose on Easter Sunday morning, eager to begin our day's adventures, which included Easter Breakfast of POP Century's Food Court , which our pal PoohHappens suggested as one of our dining choices.

As we waved goodbye to the Grand Floridian

We jumped into our car

and sped off to POP CENTURY!

POP1.JPG

We pulled up to Valet Park our car,

POP3.JPG

but it seems that POP doesn't have Valet Parking....nor for that matter Bellmen! We saw tons of people scurring around pushing the luggage carts and never saw a Bellman. I began to think, WHAT HAVE WE GOTTEN OURSELVES INTO?!?!? Will this be a repeat of our trip to the Dolphin for dinner at BlueZoo??? Will housekeeping be deplorable, will "theming" be even worse? Tell me it isn't so!

We walk inside and find a super lobby with a time line on the wall of all those GODY artifacts / things that your mother used to have over the years.(ok...tell the truth....you still have them don't you?!?)

We actually spent a lot of time in the lobby. The timeline is a very cool / fun thing to look at and relive (yes my pals, relive) your childhood!

We finally find the Everything Pop shopping and dining section!

BREAKFAST IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

We walk into the Shopping and Food Court and We were blown away by the mass of humanity before us.

Disney marketing at its best! Everything you could ever imagine you might need, Disney has in the shopping section, even a huge section marked "$10 and less". HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG! I am SOOOOO glad I am a Disney Stockholder. I just kept thinking "cha ching!" :rotfl2:

We proceed to the Food Court and decided that we should scope the place out to plan our attack!

We began to get a bit overwhlemed by everyone rushing here there and everywhere and until we noticed that Disney in their infinite wisdom had stantions set up to herd the crowds!

Thanks for the laughs this morning, I am already enjoying this review tremendously! Keep it coming!

We walked around, and were amazed at the offerings the Food Court had. Everything from prepared, boxed foods and cereals to ENTIRE boxes of Entimens donuts! AND at regular retail prices, can you believe it? A Bargain at Disney!

They have the food court broken up into cooking stations. Once section is for Waffles and the like, another for pancakes and a third for eggs and such.

I decided to go to the Waffle section, because we just HAD to have Mickey Waffles, while I sent Kevin to go get some real "adult" fare at the egg section.

I ripped through my line in record time, of course...I had waffles, so by the time I waited for Kevin, they well......got a little cold.

I go to find Kevin and he had just gotten to the front of the cue.

As I am standing there, I see one of the CM taking a "pizza" out of the pizza oven and looked up and low and behold, they offer a "breakfast pizza", although this wasn't our original plan, I told kevin to grab one since they were pipping hot out of the oven, along with the Adult Breakfast we ordered.

why would you go here Easter morning? anyway love the reviews keep them coming.

After we proceed to check out, we began the "search" for "our" table. Somehow, the cast members misplaced our ADR for a table. Row after row after table after table we pass, which are all being "held" with a diaper bag or a backpack etc. We wander, as we wonder "Will we ever find a table"?

To our dismay, Disney must have sprinkled some pixie dust pixiedust: pixiedust: on us, as we went outside and saw a table opening up! We rush the table like mad, in order to beat out that lady balancing 5 refillable mugs, pushing a stroller, dragging 3 kids under 6 who have eaten nothing but mickey bars and easter candy in the last 24 hours, and was repeating the phrase "stop touching that over and over". Sounds like this lady was going for the "full experience!", wouldn't you say PoohHappens? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Finally after a drag down fight with this woman....Kevin and I ended up with a wonderful table outside on the lania of the POP Food Court, with a beautiful view of the "70's" icon building

We were out to have fun that day and also were going for the dycotomy of the situation as the rest of our day included, a 90 minute massage at the Grand Floridian's Spa, cocktails at Mizner's with a Cplofdisneynuts and dinner at the Chef's Table at V&A.

After we finally got settled, we perused our choices that morning.

A Child's Order of Mickey waffles, an Adult Egg Breakfast Platter, and a Breakfast Pizza and finished with the POP's "tie-dyed" cheesecake!

Lets start with the Adult Egg Breakfast Platter, which featured a lovel assortment of breakfast fare. Scrambled Eggs, strips of grease ladden bacon, a slab of sausage, home fries and a buttermilk bisquit.

POP8.JPG

Kevin loves scrambled eggs, and thought they were quite acceptable. not runny or over cooked. The bacon I must admit was SUPER, it was crispy, greasy and actually not bad as bacon goes. The home fries, well....they left MUCH to be desired. We like our home fries well done, and these, aside from being a bit cold, were limp and not very flavorful. The bisquit....lathered up with some butter substitute that POP offers was nice and fluffy. Honestly? I think most of the bisquits on Disney Property must come from a central warehouse, because in my mind, they always taste the same, no matter if it is Wispering Canyon, or POP, or O'Hana's or wherever. This is NOT a bad thing....in reality, since I like bread products, its great to know that there is continuity with the bisquit!

moving onto to the now COLD Mickey Waffles. I realized we made a tactical error in our ordering style and in the future, would hold off on getting Waffles until AFTER we resolved our reservation issues with the Cashiers and found our table! :rotfl2:

POP9.JPG

Our Waffles were served with side of Apple Sauce, a single strip of bacon and another slab of sausage. Kevin took the sausage and I of course took the other piece of bacon.

The Waffles served with "maple flavored" syrup (which by the way....is what I like for syrup because I DETEST PURE Maple Syrup), although cute, and probably enough for a child (which is what they were meant for) was not enough for my belly, so we moved onto the side of Apple sauce included on our custom made Mickey dinnerware.

Did I forget to mention? The Applesauce was SUGAR FREE! A picture is always worth a thousand words, so I'll let you determine our thoughts on the applesauce by this photo!

POP12.JPG

If that Applesauce is what babyfood tastes like, I am SOOOOO glad I can't remember that far back!

Finally we tried the "Breakfast Pizza".

Pop Century's Breakfast Pizza starts out life as a piece of pita bread, that they then spread "sausage grease gravy" on, top that with scrambled eggs and some cheese and then sprinkled the entire thing with bacon tidbits.

POP7.JPG

WOW....I have died and gone to heaven. I LOVE sausage grease gravy! The combination was incredible. The pita pizza was cut into 4 pieces which makes sharing with kevin easy, but I must I loathed giving him any of it after I had the first bite. It was DELICIOUS. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

All kidding aside.....this is definitely a hidden gem at the POP food court. 2 of these little individual pizzas and I would have been all set!

Great Review LOL.. I will be staying at PoP in June. Thanks for the heads up. Do they ever give anyone a hard time about ordering from the kids menu at a CS? I eat very small portions and often can't finish a kids meal.

For Dessert...yes dessert.....doesn't EVERYONE have dessert with breakfast?!?!?

We decided to try the POP's tie-died cheesecake

POP10.JPG

Lets just say it is NOT NY Style Cheesecake!

the bottom layer, which appears marroon in the picture is actually cake. In my mind, it is a strange combination for someone who is used to "crumb" bases to cheesecakes. Kevin and I had a lengthy discussion about the various colored layers of cheese cake and final ruling is that they do NOT have individual flavors. When we were tasting them, we thought maybe they did, but it was obvious that it was our minds playing tricks on us and we hadn't even been drinking yet! :drinking1 :drinking1

Overall? I didn't really care for it. I definitely didn't like the cake as the base, and the cheescake part of it, just wasn't creamy like I enjoy it. The cheescake part of it had a grainy texture.

Also, I expected the foodcoloring to change our tongue color, and it didn't! I was disappointed in that! I was expecting this to be a "kid" friendly sort of thing...and kids LOVE to have their tongues colored!

OH WELL, my loss....we had plenty of desserts to make up for it at Bistro de Paris this night before (food review still awaiting develoopment)!

CS have never given us a hard time. This is the second time we've ordered items off of the children's menu.

In closing, I must say, it was a lot of fun and quite the adventure to head over to POP's food court.

As we were leaving, I said to Kevin that I would definitely order the Breakfast Pizza again, next time we eat at POP and he looked at me like I had grown a second head and said "What do you mean NEXT time?!?!?!?" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm also a huge fan of sausage grease gravy, and I had no idea they put it on the breakfast pizza at PC! Thanks so much for this info, Mister Disney. I will definitely have to try one of these yummies on my next trip. :cool1:
