Moving to Winter Springs , FL..please please help me!

we are moving to winter springs, fl and I need some help.

is this a good safe area? how are the schools? weather? taxes? My husband got a job in orlando and we were told this was a great place to plunk down..but you know..i thought i should run it by everyone here..since your all the experts..

I've only been to Winter Springs once. It is quite a drive from my area (about 40 minutes by highway). The time I was there, it seemed pretty nice. That is where they hold the annual Orlando area Scottish Festival. Great fun!

I can tell you that I don't remember ever hearing much about Winter Springs on the news. That's a good thing. If there was a lot of crime happening there, I'd have heard.

I think you'll like it there.

I live in Winter Park, FL (very close to Winter Springs) and been here for a little over a year. Having issue with rash of break in's at my apartment complex (nice, gated complex). Very scary, but area has seemed safe in the past.

Winter Springs is on the "east side" although not "in Orlando" it's nearby, of course.

It's a general area that contains some schools (no not the best, that would be the Seminole County School) some crime (like all areas) and older homes, with a couple of newer housing developments.

I'm not a fan of the east side, but that is totally my opinion as many folks live there and like it just fine.

It's not a "touristy" place, rather a residential area where people who work for a living reside. ::yes::
