Moving to Vestal NY

Hey...welcome to the neighborhood. I live in Endicott, NY which is just a few miles from Vestal. Vestal has a great school district, one of the best in our area, but that also comes with a price tag. Vestal has some of the highest property taxes in the area as well.

The Vestal Parkway has become a huge shopping strip over the last 10 years or so, and you can find anything there from the low-end Walmart, Target and Home Goods, to the upper end stores like Anne Taylor. There are also some great karate studios and gymnastic studios. One karate studio in particular has a world-class instructer. My son took lessons there and it was awesome. There is also a great River Walk and some really nice parks.

As for renting a truck; I woud try Pensky. You may get a better deal then U-Haul. When are you looking at moving and what brings you to our area?

My soon to be hubby got transferred to the area ( he works for lockeed ). He is moving up in July, I will be joining him with my son mid august. Question,, My son will be starting first grade at vestal hills elementary , what is the bus system like? I can't find anything online. I'm hoping for front door pick up

I live about 20 minutes west of you in the sticks ( outside Owego). Vestal has a great school system plus the parkway (all the common chain restaurants and stores). The rail trail is a great walking trail that runs in the woods along the parkway; it's great for walking and biking.


I can honestly say that this area has much more to do than when I was a kid. We love the fact we are so close to Syracuse, Ithaca, Rochester, and only the 3 hour drive from NYC. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Call Vestal Hills Directly... I'm not sure if it is front door as that area sounds like the Tioga Terrace housing development which is huge!

I lived in Endicott for 8 years and loved the area. It was a great place to raise a young family. We moved "back home" to WNY when the opportunity arose, but I fondly remember that area.

We live on the south side of Binghamton, but do most of our shopping in Vestal - it's a nice area! I would agree with calling the school directly to find out about the buses. Welcome to the area

I am south of you all in Pennsylvania but i know the area as well. It is where we go to shop!

rockundergirl the Crestview Heights housing development is close to Lockheed also and on the same side of the river.
