Moving to Orlando... HELP!

Congratulations! You're staying there for the length of your furlough? Might I ask what you decided and how you found it? Please keep us dreamers posted on your experience!

Also, what's the wildlife like? I'm not an outdoorsy person and I do get antsy at the thought of gators, mosquitoes, love bugs, and snakes everywhere! One if my Orlando friends just took a picture of a diamondback on 535, and I've heard stories of snakes found in hotel rooms! Oh, and bed bugs! Do I sound paranoid yet?

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that I found a place that's about 15 minutes from the parks. I'm glad that this thread continued and others were able to also get information about making the move to Orlando.

Don't forget the roaches/palmetto bugs.

I saw more Gators at home in Gainesville than I did when I lived in Otown. Snakes though, yes, lots of them and spiders too.

Lovebugs are just annoying because you'll need to wash your car everyday during the summer. Oh and the pollen.

That's the one I like about NE...very few bugs because it gets so cold.

Gaaaaaahhhh...roaches/palmettos/snakes/spiders/pollen? How often did you find them in your home? Lots of snakes? I do like not seeing a lot of snakes here and being able to open my windows to air out the home. Eek. *Sigh* I'll have to think about whether this is an Orlando deal-breaker.
