And mommyoeo - All of us would love to help you, but we kind of need to know if you know where you or your spouse/SO will be working or going to school, if you already have scouted out a place to live, if schools for your kids are a factor, etc. Just give us an idea about what kind of info you are looking for. Hopefully you already know that DFW is a humongously spread out metroplex.

Hello, guys! Thank you for writing back! We're going to Southwestern Baptist Sem for DH's Ph.D. We'll live on campus until January, or until we find a job . Hopefully, the job thing will work out SOON!

I am very interested in getting together with you guys once we move in!! We'll be there mid-May, or whenever our apartment comes available.

I'll write more once we get our house packed and our stuff moved--

I live on the other side to the north of Dallas but I really like Fort Worth. Great arts, zoo, downtown area, race track and I love heading out into that part of west Texas from there. There's plenty of old forts, western towns, ghost towns and hot cowboys in that direction.

My husband went to the seminary for a music degree a few years ago, and we live right across from the music building . It looks like our house is seminary property, but it's actually just surrounded by the seminary's property. Maybe we should meet . But I'll warn you - DH and I are not stereotypical Baptists .

I'm trying to picture the music building... Are you in a 2 story house that is beside a seminary-owned duplex? We lived in a little duplex across from the church when we were first married-- I think it was 4414 James Avenue. If you live where I think you do, I've been in your house and considered renting it about 8 years ago when our first baby was on the way.

I look forward to meeting you! As long as a "stereotypical" Baptist doesn't scare you away!! I'm not sure of the "normal" mold for Baptist so I don't know if I fit it or not.

I think we'll be in student viliage. We're leaving 4 BR and 3 Baths to move into a 675 square foot apartment with 3 children!! I do HOPE something else opens up soon. We keep telling ourselves that it is temporary! I'll be spending LOTS of time outside (mainly because we won't all fit in the house ) ... so maybe we'll run into each other.

I don't think I live in the house you are referring to. Our house is in a row of about 8 older homes that face south (and right at the music building - basically at the intersection of Broadus and Stanley). Everyone always thinks professors live in them, but 3 of the houses in this row of homes are privately owned, including ours. We live next door to the Alamo-looking house . Just look for my Mickey antenna toppers, Mickey hitch cover, and WDW bumper stickers.

As the time gets closer to your move, PM me here on the DIS and we can exchange phone #s and plan to meet up.
