I would suggest an area like St. Cloud or Winter Haven.
I lived out near Winter Park after my CP, it was a nice area, the complex i was in was horrible, bu tnice area. I hated the long drive personally.
I second what someone said earlier, there are restricted income apartments near disney that are very nice if you qualify. Some right behind the MK.
Good luck PM me if you have any specific questions about the area, specific complexes or working for WDW...I'd love to help.

Agree with Skipper, somewhere JUST over the Polk County line may be a bit more reasonably priced. I would recommend against anything that will have you driving WEST to WDW on I4 or on 192 for any distance.
The garage apartment in Celebration would be a nice place. Decent location, close to WDW. I would imagine, however, that the price would be inflated, because it is Celebration.
We went through this about a year ago. We decided to leave cold New Hampshire and move to Florida. We had a friend who lives in the area. We decided to live near WDW and in Central Florida so that we can explore the state from a convenient location.
When we were visiting WDW the Feb. before, we toured a couple apartments in Hunter's Creek, they were nice, but we found Champions Gate to be a MUCH more quiet area. This will change, but for now, it is great!
It was easier on us, however, because I was able to stay with my current company and work from home. Holly, just finishing her graduate work got a job doing Speech and Language in Winter Haven immediately... Well, as soon as she started looking.
Good luck
kforbs126! It is tough to move away from someplace you know and all of your friends and family. But look at it as a new beginning!
It took us some time, but we feel at home in the area. AND, we get lost a LOT less frequently!
